Emmerdale’s Paula Lane welcomes baby boy and shares adorable Irish name
The actress who played Ella Forster on Emmerdale and previously played Kylie Platt on Coronation Street revealed that she and husband, Tom Shaw, had welcomed their third child

Emmerdale star Paula Lane is having a wonderful start to the new year, as she has announced the birth of her third child, a lovely baby boy.
The actress, who played Ella Forster on Emmerdale and previously played Kylie Platt on Coronation Street, shared the exciting news on social media this afternoon with a gorgeous picture.
Taking to Instagram to share a snap of her cradling the baby, Paula also shared that she decided to give him an Irish name – Patrick.
“Welcome to the ranch Patrick we are all completely and utterly in love. So longed for…thank you for completing us” she wrote.
She also shared a humorous picture of her husband, Tom Shaw, supporting the newborn in one arm while holding a bottle of Paddy’s Irish Whiskey in the other.
The soap star couldn’t leave her beloved black Labrador Stoodley out of the celebrations, and included a lovely pic of him lying in front of the baby basket, looking besotted with the new addition.
The 39-year-old actress already has two children, Arthur and Penny, with her husband, who has also acted on soaps. The couple got married in May 2014 at Leeds Cathedral, before welcoming their son, Arthur, in December of the same year. Their daughter Penny Grace was born in July 2016.
On Coronation Street, Paula played the role of Kylie Platt, the sister of Becky McDonald (played by Katherine Kelly). Her character later developed a romantic relationship with David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd), leading to their marriage.
However, after six years on the show, Kylie met a tragic end in scenes that aired in 2016. Viewers watched as Paula’s character died in the arms of her husband, David, lying in the middle of the street after being fatally stabbed.
Last year, Paula made her debut as Ella on Emmerdale. However, her character was last seen in April, when Ella was arrested after having feared that she had killed Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), whom she’d been harassing.
