Jai’s turbulent romantic escapades in the Dales are well-known, encompassing his past marriage to Laurel Thomas (played by Charlotte Bellamy) and his affair with Woolpack landlady Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins).
Away from the drama of Emmerdale, Chris enjoys a blissful relationship with his long-term partner Rowena Finn. The pair have been together since 2006 and have two children.
Their son, Harry, was born in 2013, followed by their daughter, Ella Rose, in 2015, according to the Daily Star.
On Friday (January 9), Chris took to Instagram to mark Harry’s 13th birthday, expressing his surprise at his son’s transition into teenage years. He shared a heartwarming photo with Harry, both beaming at the camera, Chris’s arm affectionately draped around his son’s shoulder.
In another picture, Chris gazes fondly at Harry, who sports a pair of sunglasses and a charming smile while basking in his father’s embrace.
The soap star captioned the post: “Happy Birthday to my TEENAGE son and my best mate. Wow… how has that happened… 13 today! We love u.”
Chris’s Emmerdale colleague Laura Norton, who portrays Kerry on the ITV soap, responded to the post with a love heart, whilst former Priya Sharma actress Fiona Wade commented: “Aww gorgeous! Happy Birthday, Harry!!”
Boyzone’s Keith Duffy remarked: “Handsome boys”, whilst another fan gushed: “Awhhh happy BD to your mini me, wow 13!! Hope he has the best time celebrating.”
“He’s a mini you!!”, one follower observed, whilst another shared the same view and declared: “Double of you.”
Chris launched his television career on the ITV production Children’s Ward, playing JJ in 1990. He subsequently appeared in programmes including Cops and Where the Heart Is.

Apart from his soap achievements, Chris has featured in numerous TV shows, such as Prime Suspect, Hotel Babylon, Doctors, Shameless, and Holby City.
His film work includes appearances in Four Brothers and a Funeral, as well as Death of a Socialist, demonstrating his range as a performer.
Chris is also renowned for playing Vikram Desai on Coronation Street from 1999 to 2003, which received a nod during the Emmerdale and Corrie crossover episode.
