Another week, another Emmerdale schedule change as the staple of the week night ITV schedule is taken off air again tonight (Tuesday March 31). It also hasn’t been released on ITVX, so when is it back?

The soap schedule can be messed around. It’s usually due to sport or one-off shows. And even now we’ve got the ‘soap power hour’, Emmerdale and Coronation Street are still not immune to changes. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered here so you know when you can watch Emmerdale next.

Is Emmerdale on tonight?

Emmerdale is not on on Tuesday March 31 and neither is Coronation Street. The two soaps usually air at 8pm and 8.30pm, but they are not on at all tonight.

As there are no episodes tonight, it means no ITVX early release either. Both are usually on the streaming site and YouTube at 7am.

It’s because of football. England are playing Japan in a friendly at Wembley Stadium. Kick-off is at 7.45pm and the build-up coverage starts at 7pm.

Another catch-up Emmerdale to air on Sunday

Emmerdale will return on Wednesday, but there is set to be more disruption throughout the week. On both Thursday and Friday (April 2 and 3) it will move to 7.30pm.

The good news is this time we are getting catch-up episodes to make up for tonight. On Sunday April 5 – Easter Sunday – both Coronation Street and Emmerdale will air from 7pm on ITV.

What happens this week?

As the Dingles all point fingers over who poisoned Kim it seems that Cain is the main suspect after the mushrooms are said to be the culprit. But Kim is sure Joe had something to do with it…

Meanwhile we get another two-hander episode on Friday (April 3) when Paddy and Marlon seek comfort in each other. Paddy is really struggling with the upcoming court case and when he has a flashback to his attempted suicide, he panics and turns to Marlon.

Marlon offers comfort, but nothing works. And then he hits on a idea – they head to Celia’s farm with sledgehammers. The pair smash everything to pieces to make themselves feel better. But with Marlon struggling with his own demons, will this be cathartic for him too?

Elsewhere, Jacob doesn’t like the way Dr Todd manhandles and shouts at a patient. He’s determined to stand up to her over it, but will he regret it?
