Emmerdale spoilers tease the future of three villagers as Dr Todd launches revenge plot

Emmerdale fans are in for a dramatic week as Bear Wolf takes the witness stand in his murder trial, while Dr. Todd reaches a sickening new low

Emmerdale is gearing up for a gripping week as the fate of three village residents hangs in the balance.

On Monday (May 4), the murder trial of Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) gets underway in court, with Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards), and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) all facing tough questioning.

As devoted followers of the ITV soap will be aware, Bear is staring down the prospect of a life sentence after taking Ray’s life, while Paddy and Dylan face charges of perverting the course of justice, having assisted in concealing the killing.

Last week, Paddy, Bear, and Dylan held little hope of walking free from the trial, given the weight of evidence mounted against them. However, during Paddy’s prison visit to see his father, everything shifted when Bear caught sight of a familiar face across the room.

Prior to taking the stand, Paddy and Dylan share a deeply emotional moment, while April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) is wracked with nerves as she readies herself for her testimony, with Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) urging her to stay strong and use the day to tell the jurors the full truth about Ray’s abuse.

As the trial gets underway, Bear is overwhelmed as he is forced to relive Ray’s death and his harrowing experience at the farm. April then takes the stand but falters under cross-examination. What does she reveal that leaves the teenager fearing she has damaged Bear’s case?

Dylan, who was coerced into selling drugs for Ray and narrowly escaped being killed by him, is next to testify for the defence, detailing how Bear rescued both him and Paddy from Ray’s clutches. But will he hold up under cross-examination? Simo then takes the stand, and Bear begins to spiral upon hearing his words.

After the court adjourns, Bear’s barrister, Zara, explains that they have no option but to put Bear on the stand the following day, and Paddy reluctantly agrees. But will Bear be up to it?

When the moment finally comes, Paddy and the rest of the family anxiously make their way to court ahead of Bear’s testimony, wondering whether he will make or break the case.

With his loved ones watching on supportively, a visibly nervous Bear steps into the witness stand to begin his testimony. Will Bear manage to tell the court the full truth about what Ray put him through, or has he made his situation considerably worse?

Back in the village, Jacob Sugden is also fighting to clear his name as Dr Todd’s heartless revenge plot sinks to a shocking new low.

Trainee doctor Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) is enduring a relentless bullying campaign at the hands of Dr. Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) while on placement at Hotten General Hospital. She has since moved to the village, where she continues to torment Jacob and humiliate him in front of the local community.

Next week, Todd’s behaviour towards new father Jacob worsens further when the pair encounter each other in the village, and she taunts him yet again.

Todd then turns her attention to Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), insinuating that Jacob is keen to rush back to work despite their newborn baby, leaving Sarah far from impressed.

Sarah confronts Jacob, who wastes no time tracking down Todd in the corridors of The Woolpack and issuing her a stern warning to stay well away from his wife. Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) then walks into the ladies’ toilets and is taken aback by Jacob’s presence.

The vet subsequently challenges Jacob, and when Sarah pushes to find out what is going on, he breaks down and reveals the full extent of Todd’s bullying.

Sarah stands by her partner and urges him to speak to Carol in HR once more about Todd’s conduct, while reproaching Vanessa for taking Todd’s side over Jacob.

However, Jacob’s predicament takes a turn for the worse when Carol reveals that Todd has already filed a complaint against him and has provided substantial evidence, including voice recordings.

Devastated by the turn of events, Jacob is on the verge of handing in his resignation after his dreams of becoming a doctor are cast into jeopardy, and he opens up to Sarah about Todd’s fabricated accusations in his file.

In typical Dingle/Sugden fashion, she urges him to fight back. Spurred on by her words, Jacob heads to Todd’s home for a showdown — but just how will their confrontation conclude?
