Devastated Emmerdale fans are certain they know who could kill Jimmy King off and it’s someone totally unexpected.

Jimmy (Nick Miles) has been a staple on the long-running ITV soap since back in 2004 – and it’s fair to say he has become one of the show’s beloved characters.

He has also played a part in several big storylines. From his beloved marriage to Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) to even being stabbed, Jimmy’s time in the Dales has not been short of drama.

In May though, it was reported that Jimmy was going to be killed off. Since then, it’s been speculated that his exit could have something to do with the return of Jimmy’s ex-wife, Sadie King (Patsy Kensit), which was also recently confirmed.

Jimmy is a soap favourite

Emmerdale producer, Laura Shaw, confirmed that Patsy Kensit would reprise her role as Sadie, saying her comeback is “guaranteed to shock.” And just this week, ahead of her return, Patsy revealed that Sadie has a “big secret” and it’s something to do with the King family.

However, in what would be a huge twist fans are convinced someone unexpected could kill Jimmy off. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers suspect wife Nicola.

Fans will recall the pair have gone through a rough patch recently, with Nicola attempting to put the spark back in their marriage. But according to a new fan theory, the love-scorned character could murder him.

“Nicola to kill Jimmy, you heard it here first,” said one person. Someone else added: “Maybe. It’s too obvious to be Sadie.” A third chimed in: “Can’t see Nicola committing a cold-blooded murder but maybe she kills him by accident?”

Jimmy’s journey in the village has been marked by tragedy, having lost all his brothers and his father. His storylines have included various business ventures, a bitter feud with the Sugden family, and being stabbed by Daz Eden (Luke Tittensor) after starting an arson attack.

Beyond that, the character has also weathered the collapse of his marriage to Sadie before tying the knot with Nicola and welcoming children later in life.

In 2024, Jimmy found himself caught up in a disturbing plotline when his nephew Tom (James Chase) started physically and emotionally abusing his wife, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper). Initially blind to the reality, Jimmy eventually challenged Tom and stood by Belle throughout Tom’s trial.
