A beloved Emmerdale couple could be headed for a devastating split.
ITV soap fans will know that Sarah Sugden (played by Katie Hill) and Jacob Sugden (Joe-Warren Plant) started dating over Christmas 2024.
They soon got together officially, but heartbreak later followed when Jacob broke up with Sarah shortly after the limo crash last year.
The accident notably killed Jacob’s mum, Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), as well as Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough). As Jacob processed his grief, Sarah began exploring a romantic connection with newcomer Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah).
Jacob and Sarah eventually found their way back to each other, with Jacob surprising his love with an impromptu proposal – which she happily accepted.

The couple planned a secret Christmas Eve registry office wedding last year, which was derailed when they arrived to learn that Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) had just married Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) instead.
Sarah and Jacob tied the knot shortly after, months before welcoming their daughter Leyla via surrogacy.
However, the couple aren’t aware that Leyla isn’t actually their biological daughter. Instead, she is the daughter of Sarah’s grandmother, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), who had a one-night stand with Ross Barton (Michael Parr) before becoming Sarah’s surrogate.
Charity has continued to keep her secret, resulting in devastating consequences. After months of being blackmailed by Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker), Charity was sexually assaulted by the evil physician in devastating scenes.
Now, some Emmerdale fans have suggested that Sarah and Jacob could be headed for a split, once they both find out about Leyla’s true parentage.

One person asked on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page: “Prediction time… which current relationship won’t make it to Christmas?”
Someone else replied: “Sarah and Jacob,” with another adding: “I don’t think they’ll survive finding out Leyla isn’t their child.”
A third said: “I reckon the baby Leyla storyline will break them!”
The drama continues next week as Charity decides she’s done living in fear and invites Dr Todd to Jacobs Fold to confront her once and for all.
As emotions boil over, Charity demands that Todd admit the truth about what happened between them. But the doctor hits back with a chilling threat to expose the secret surrounding Leyla’s parentage to Sarah. Could Charity’s secret come out sooner than expected?
