There could be a shocking fling on Emmerdale if a new fan theory is to be believed.
Amid a workplace bullying storyline being teased for Jacob Gallagher, recent drama with his wife Sarah Sugden has sparked predictions there will be an affair. With Sarah lying to Jacob about a car theft scheme, there’s also the looming drama that will come with their baby’s true parentage.
Sarah’s grandmother Charity Dingle is currently carrying Sarah and Jacob’s baby, or so they believe, after she agreed to be their surrogate. What they do not know is that Charity actually fell pregnant with Ross Barton’s baby, and the child is not Sarah and Jacob’s.
Onscreen at the moment, Jacob is struggling as his boss Dr Todd has been putting a lot of pressure on him at the hospital. With her calling him out over minor errors and making him uncomfortable, Jacob has been left feeling out of his depth.

Now, some fans are questioning if a recent scene teased a change to the plot. Fans are speculating that in an unexpected twist, Jacob could end up “falling for” Dr Todd, with some even wondering if an affair was on the cards.
While it would be very odd to move the storyline from a bullying ordeal to a romance, some viewers claimed Jacob looked at Todd in a way that suggested something could happen between them. One fan said: “Is Jacob going to fall for his boss?”
Another fan posted: “I can see something happening there. The way he was looking at her.” A third fan added: “I didn’t think about that until you posted this!

“But now that you’ve said it, it potentially looks like it! Why else would she be in the pub etc and coming into emmerdale aside from seeing her in the hospital setting! Poor Sarah as no doubt she will find out about ‘her’ baby soon too.”
A further post read: “It’s the way he kept looking at her all nervous,” as another said: “I think the boss maybe is interested in Jacob sexually but he turns her down.” Another fan said: “I hadn’t thought of this given the bullying hints but it would certainly be a twist.
“Maybe everything with the baby and Sarah lying to him with the cars could lead to Jacob getting closer to his boss.” It comes as Katie Hill, who plays Sarah, teased the future of her character’s marriage to Jacob.
She said: “Fingers crossed because we’ve only just got married. It can’t be going down here already. We’ve got a baby on the way, so I’m hoping for some positivity at the end of it all.”
Katie also revealed at the time she didn’t know how the baby twist would be exposed, and what it might lead to. She said: “I can’t wait to find out where it goes.
“None of us know yet. I can’t wait to get that script where it does come out and I can see what way it goes. But I’m also not looking forward to it at the same time, because I love working with Emma Atkins [who plays Charity], and obviously that probably means, once she finds out, there’s no way that we’re going to carry on doing all these nice scenes together, so I think that’ll be hard.”
