REGULAR viewers of both Emmerdale and Coronation Street may be surprised to find that the popular soaps are not being shown tonight.

While that may come as a shock to fans of the respective shows, they will not be missing out on an episode – as it will air at a later date.

Are Coronation Street and Emmerdale tonight?

Both Coronation Street and Emmerdale will not be in their usual slots tonight due to a scheduling shake-up.

This is because the Lionesses’ World Cup qualifier against Spain is being shown on ITV.

Coverage of the match begins at 6:30pm and ends at 9:10pm, with the Wembley clash – a repeat of the 2023 World Cup final – kicking off at 7:10pm.

Due to the episodes not being shown on Tuesday night, they will be broadcast back-to-back on Sunday 19 April.

Emmerdale will fill the first slot at 7pm, with Coronation Street following at 7:30pm to make up for their midweek omission.

When are Coronation Street and Emmerdale usually on?

Coronation Street and Emmerdale can be viewed on ITV1 and ITVX.

Usually, the popular British soaps air from 8-9pm on weekdays. Coronation Street is on at 8.30pm, with Emmerdale airing 30 minutes earlier at 8pm.

Occasionally, a packed ITV schedule can cause delays.

It’s not the first time the two programmes’ schedule has been interrupted by sport in recent weeks month.

On March 6, fans of the soaps were left annoyed when rugby took priority over their form of entertainment.

But, rest assured for soap fans, they will not be missing out on action over the course of the week.
