The true identity of Paula, the “bag thief” in EastEnders, has finally been “revealed” — and you’ll be ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED to discover who she’s related to.

While there’s been nothing to suggest she’s a major character or will even be back on the show, fans are convinced she is someone of significance to ongoing plots. Viewers said it was too random for her to show up and be credited without a surname.
Then, after new scenes for two different characters on the BBC soap, fans wondered if it somehow meant one of these characters was linked to Paula. With Bea Pollard acting weird still and even turning dangerous, it was her appearance in the local newspaper around the time Paula arrived that sparked suspicion.
As for the other resident, fans noticed Nicola Mitchell spoke about her sister again, the mystery sibling we have yet to see. So for Paula to appear in scenes around the time of the mention has left fans wondering if Paula could be Nicola’s sibling.

On the Nicola theory, it was shared quite a bit online. A fan posted: “Nicola’s sister??? She mentioned her last night.” Someone replied: “Yes! Good call.”
Three different fans then said: “Nicola’s sister”. As for the Bea theory, fans have wondered if Paula is actually the ‘real Bea’ and that Bea is an impostor. Another suggestion was that she was somehow linked to Bea and her past.
A fan wrote: “The real Bea… Linda couldn’t remember what she Bea looked like.” Another fan said: “I was thinking someone to do with Bea as she was in the news paper and now she’s turned up.”
There were other theories too, including a link to Max Branning that we are yet to full understand, while other fans thought Paula might be a character’s mother. A fan said: “Could be Joel’s mum maybe?”

Another agreed: “Could it be Joel’s mum as I’ve read that he’s returning!!” A third theory read: “Could be the pregnant woman in Max’s bed or who Max is going to marry.”
There’s every chance Paula really was a one-off character as part of scenes with Josh, Jasmine and Oscar. But fans are sure there has to be more to her random appearances, and they don’t think it is the last we will see of her.
Paula isn’t mentioned in spoilers for future episodes for now, but could this be to keep the mystery going around who she is and why she is in Walford? If fans are correct, she could well be back.
