Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans have come up with a fresh theory about who holds Oscar and Lauren at gunpoint in the New Year flashforward, and their identity might surprise you.

For weeks, there has been talk of the mystery gunman being Ravi, with viewers convinced that he will have a vendetta against Max by the end of the year.

However, spoilers for next week have changed fans’ minds.

Who wants Max to pay?

In EastEnders spoilers for next week, Max decides to take matters into his own hands when Linda confides in him about Tim Walton‘s blackmail.

He targets Tim, pretending to be his taxi driver in a bid to get him in his car. It looks like he then takes him away from Walford, and can be seen bundling him into the boot of the car.

As Max’s revenge plan plays out, he threatens Tim, telling him never to set foot in Walford again.

While it remains to be seen whether Tim listens to Max’s threats, fans are convinced that he is the gunman targeting Max, returning for revenge.

EastEnders fans make their predictions

While the New Year is a long way off, viewers are convinced they have cracked the plot…

“Tim will be the gunman, predicted one fan over on X. While another fan was also thinking along the same lines, stating: “Does Tim come back at New Year?”

Someone else also agreed: “Tim will want revenge on Max, maybe he’s the New Year gunman?”

Could Tim be the gunman in the EastEnders flashforward?

It remains to be seen who was holding Oscar and Lauren at gunpoint at the end of the flashforward episode. But whoever it was meant business.

As the episode ended, they sent Max a message informing him that they were holding his children hostage – and demanding he choose which one survive.

But who’s the lone gunman? Could it be Tim?
