Pregnant Emmerdale star shows off baby bump as she prepares to give birth for third time
Coronation Street and Emmerdale star Paula Lane is currently pregnant with her third child and has been keeping fans updated on her journey ahead of giving birth
Emmerdale’s Paula Lane has delighted fans by flaunting her growing baby bump as she prepares for the arrival of her little one.
Paula portrayed Kylie Platt on the ITV soap Coronation Street before her character met a tragic end in 2016. Paula subsequently returned to soap opera territory in 2024, taking on the role of Ella Forster on Emmerdale.
On Emmerdale, it wasn’t long before Paula’s character Ella became embroiled in dramatic storylines, particularly following her separation from Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
Her troubled history was also exposed, with revelations that Ella had previously served time behind bars after killing a childhood companion during their youth.
Nevertheless, Ella departed the Dales this year following her arrest after taking Liam captive, desperately attempting to demonstrate her innocence regarding spiking Chas (Lucy Pargeter) – though audiences will remember that John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) was actually responsible, reports the Daily Star.

Beyond her soap career, Paula is wed to her longtime partner Tom Shaw. The couple exchanged vows in May 2014 and are devoted parents to Arthur, born in 2014, and Penny, born in 2016.
This year, however, Paula shared the thrilling announcement that she was anticipating her third child with Tom, expected to arrive in December. The actress posted on Instagram at the time: “Some special news to share from us @sirtomshaw Christmas just got a bit more magical. Our baby boy due December 2025”.
Paula has been keeping her followers in the loop about her pregnancy journey. Just last week, she shared a series of snaps from a recent holiday with Tom on Instagram, including pictures of the couple enjoying the local attractions.
In one photo, Paula proudly displayed her baby bump in a snug black dress. In the mirror selfie, she is seen smiling at the camera, possibly cradling her bump.
Her post was met with a flurry of compliments from fans and co-stars alike. One follower gushed: “You look absolutely gorgeous and Wholesome Paula. What a Beautiful couple..Enjoy! !” Another added: “Looking beautiful. Congratulations Sending best wishes.”
Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick, who portrays Vanessa Woodfield, commented: “Glowing.” Meanwhile, former Coronation Street actress Debbie Rush enthused: “You look gorgeous.”
