Emmerdale could be bidding farewell to soap legend Marlon Dingle, according to fans. Marlon (Mark Charnock) made his debut on the ITV soap back in 1996 making him the second longest-running character in the programme. And it’s fair to say it didn’t take him long to become a firm favourite with fans.

Over the years, chef Marlon been involved in several big storylines. From the d.e.a.t.h of his wife Tricia (Sheree Murphy) to suffering a life-changing stroke, his time in the Dales has not been short of drama.

Especially in recent months as daughter April (Amelia Flanagan) was trapped inside the dangerous world of crime, child prostitution and drugs after being groomed by evil Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and mum Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths).

However, despite the Ray and Celia drama being over, Marlon was dealt another blow when Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) rocked back up from the d.e.a.d. As fans will recall in 2020, Graham was supposedly k.i.l.l.e.d by Pierce Harris (Jonathan Wrather).

However, the epic crossover Corriedale episode that aired in January this year revealed that Graham had actually survived and had been living under the radar for several years.

Since his comeback to the village, Graham’s ruffled plenty of feathers including Marlon’s. This week Graham was encouraged by Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) to try and reconcile with his ex Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) who is married to Marlon.

Heeding Joe’s words, Graham turned up at Smithy cottage and declared his love for Rhona, blindsiding her. Marlon soon found out and in Friday’s episode (February 20), a fuming Marlon headed to Home Farm to confront Graham insisting that Rhona “is not interested” before screaming “keep away” in his face.

However, fans now can’t help but fear a d.e.a.t.h twist is in store involving Marlon. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers predicted Graham could end up k.i.l.l.i.n.g Marlon.

“Rhona run off with Graham please!” declared one person. Someone else then mused: “Graham to k.i.l.l Marlon to get Rhona back?” A third chimed in: “Totally agree!” Another also wrote: “Maybe, I want Graham to take him on.” A fifth said: “Graham is not to be missed with.”

Meanwhile discussing Graham’s shock resurrection and return to Emmerdale, Andrew previously revealed: “I never expected it at all. Although saying that I did think that Graham always had a possibility of coming back.”

Regarding maintaining secrecy about his comeback, the 52-year-old actor confessed: “Oh yes it’s been a big secret and I kept it mostly quiet from my family, which was tricky.”
