Emmerdale fans floored to discover who Belle Dingle once had ‘romance’ with
Emmerdale fans were left floored after they discovered a major star was linked to Belle Dingle. A few years ago, it appears they nearly had a romance in the soap, and people can't get over it

Emmerdale fans have been left stunned to discover a major star nearly had a romance with Belle Dingle in the much-loved soap. Viewers are totally gobsmacked by the piece of telly news, as it turns out a famous singer previously had a stint in the ITV show, even though many people seem to have forgotten about it.
Little you may know, Yorkshire-born Yungblud previously had a role in Emmerdale, and he looks totally unrecognisable in the footage. The 27-year-old artist, known for hits like “Zombie” and “Lovesick Lullaby”, recently wowed people at the final Black Sabbath gig with his rendition of “Changes”, showcasing his close bond with legendary frontman Ozzy Osbourne just weeks before his passing.
But, before he hit the big time in music, Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Richard Harrison, cut his teeth as an actor, even landing a part in Emmerdale. His stint on the ITV soap and The Lodge has left fans gobsmacked, as many had no clue about his acting background.
The revelation came to light on TikTok, where Evi Giorgi brought this fascinating bit of music trivia to the fore. Followers are stunned by how much he’s changed since his days in the Dales.
Since the video dropped, it’s racked up over 100,000 views, sparking a flurry of comments from surprised viewers. One fan exclaimed: “Wait – he was in Emmerdale? I knew he was an actor before, but I didn’t know he was in that.”
Another chimed in, saying: “I knew I knew him from somewhere.” A third shared: “I watched them, but didn’t realise it was him.”
Echoing the sentiment, another added: “No way was that him.” One more was left bewildered, commenting: “Wait. What?”
Some admitted they were already in the know about the quirky fact, with claims that many “true fans” would be aware of this piece of music trivia. Yet, for others, the revelation was a total surprise, as they felt he looked unrecognisable from his younger days.
For those not in the loop, The Lodge was a Disney series blending music and mystery, where Yungblud portrayed Oz – a musician stirring up drama in town. The show wrapped up its run in 2017.
In Emmerdale, the now-famous musician once graced the screen as Matt, introduced as a potential romantic partner for Belle Dingle, though their love story didn’t take off.
Nevertheless, it’s astonishing for many to learn that this was the starting point of his career, especially since he’s now a big name in the music world, boasting over six million Instagram followers who clearly can’t get enough of him.

More recently, Yungblud made headlines when videos of his performance at Black Sabbath’s final gig in July went viral. He was heartbroken when the band’s lead singer, Ozzy Osbourne, passed away just weeks later.
Yungblud expressed his grief on Instagram after Ozzy’s d.e.a.t.h, writing: “I’m trying to compute the last couple [of] days and honestly I’m absolutely shattered. You have been my North Star for everything for as long as I can remember – from when I was misunderstood as a child to the way people thought I was just a little ‘too much’ or ‘strange’ in my life and career.
“I owe so much to you, your wife and your family – you all gave me a road to run down and supported me when people would turn their nose up. You loved life so much and you adored music. It was your smile man. You taught me it was beautiful to be out of the box.
“I promise you with all my heart I will try my best and make it my life’s journey to keep the sprit that you started and what you have taught me alive. I will give it my best shot.
“To sing this song for you at an event surrounded by legends inspired by you to a crowd that loved you was truly my life’s greatest honour and I vow to play this song every night for the rest of my life.
“You’re my hero in every regard. I hope you’re up there [having] a drink with Randy. For the prince of darkness you sure brought all the light to the world. I love you Ozzy.”
