Emmerdale confirms k.i.l.l.e.r.’.s shock d.e.a.t.h in unexpected demise after months offscreen

There was some heartbreaking d.e.a.t.h news on Emmerdale for one resident, as a k.i.l.l.e.r was revealed to have d.i.e.d. The iconic horse Ice, Kim Tate’s beloved four-legged pal, was sadly k.i.l.l.e.d off in a twist this week, having barely been onscreen, if at all, in recent months. Ice had been behind the d.e.a.t.h of Lydia Dingle’s rapist Craig not so long ago, making him a favourite with fans.
But his life came to a tragic end on Monday, as Joe Tate dealt Kim the sad news that Ice had suffered untreatable injuries. The pair had been in the woods investigating a shoot, only for Kim to fall from Ice when he got caught in a trap.
Kim was left seriously injured and after being rushed to hospital, her worried loved ones were told that she may lose her injured leg. Meanwhile vet Vanessa Woodfield checked Ice over, and told Joe the sad news that Ice’s own leg wounds would never heal.

She sadly shared how Kim would never be able ride her beloved horse again, and that his injury would cause him constant pain. Knowing it would only get worse, with the leg bone shattered, she advised he be put to sleep.
Without consulting Kim first, Joe told Vanessa to go ahead with the plan to put Ice to sleep as he was sure Kim would agree not to let him suffer. When Joe and Dawn Taylor visited Kim later on, Kim asked about Ice.
The pair shared the devastating news that k.i.l.l.e.r Ice was no more and the decision had been made to let him go. Kim asked if they’d explored all options, not convinced it was the right decision.
It seems out of grief, Kim will push Joe away even ousting him from Home Farm amid her further concerns Joe is planning on ousting her. Kim ends up spending Christmas alone, fuelled by anger over Ice’s d.e.a.t.h as well as what has happened to her.

Poor Joe gets much of the blame possibly, given her refusal to clear the air with him. But how will Kim react when she finds out who was involved in the events that led to Ice being injured?
At some point, Kim and Joe will learn that Sam Dingle organised a shoot on Home Farm’s land without their permission. It was this shoot Kim was investigating with Ice, leading to their accident.
Not only that, but Sam’s wife Lydia knew about it all and let him go ahead with it behind Kim’s back. This betrayal from her close friend, given the support she’s shown Lydia over the years, will no doubt leave their friendship in tatters.
