There could be an affair brewing on Emmerdale if fans are on the right track.
Viewers are convinced Belle Dingle and Joe Tate will end up having a fling amid his romance with Dawn Taylor on the ITV soap. A recent scene saw Belle advising Joe, and she managed to change his mind about something.
Fans claimed there was “chemistry” between the pair, more so than Joe and Dawn, and Belle and recent flame Kammy. Despite the Dingles and Tates famously feuding, and Belle’s niece Debbie Dingle being engaged to Joe in the past, fans are sure the pair may end up together.
Some fans called for the unexpected romance after the recent scenes of them together, as others guessed it was something being planned by the show. One fan said on social media: “GIVE US BELLE AND JOE.”

Another fan posted with their thoughts: “I only ask of one thing from @emmerdale in 2026 and that’s Joe and Belle.” A third viewer said: “Belle speaks and Joe instantly changes his mind. Now we see why they axed Kammy and Belle.”
One fan even gave them a ship name, calling the pair: “Jolle!” A further theory predicted of the possible plot: “Joe realises he has feelings for Belle whilst planning the wedding.”
Another fan said: “I reckon there’s an affair on the cards Belle and Joe,” as another wrote: “Joe and Belle have chemistry, more than him and Dawn.” A final theory said: “Belle and Joe affair is so gonna happen and this’ll be Belle and Dawn at take a vow next year! History always repeats itself.”

Others wondered if it was confirmed or not, hoping it would happen. A post read: “Have we had any confirmation of a romance or are we just speculating? Because I would LOVE this pairing.”
As it stands, there has been no suggestion from the show that Belle and Joe will get together, or that Joe and Dawn will end things. Belle was dating Kammy briefly a few weeks back, but the pair both agreed they were better off as friends.
Belle had been nervous about dating again, after her harrowing domestic abuse ordeal at the hands of her husband Tom King. The character manipulated and controlled her before turning violent, and trying to k.i.l.l her.
After Tom was finally exposed he tried to make it seem as though Belle was making it up, but the truth eventually came out. With that, Tom was sent to prison for his crimes, with the pair since divorcing as Belle got her life back.
