Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise confirms schedule shake-up after nail-biting cliffhanger leaves Mervin in danger
Here's when you'll be able to watch the next episode of the BBC series.

Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise fans will have to wait for the second half of that episode that ended on a nail-biting cliffhanger, as the BBC murder mystery show will not air this Friday as expected. The next episode has been bumped to Monday 9 March, with the FA Cup football game airing in the show’s usual spot.
The news was announced via a post on the Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise Instagram page, however those still keen to catch up with the Saint Marie lot on Friday as usual can still watch the next episode on BBC iPlayer as the post reads: “Some news about next week’s episode: you’ll be able to watch episode 6 on BBC iPlayer from Friday [8:45pm], but the BBC One broadcast has moved to Monday 9th March.”
It added: “Which does mean you get another double-Paradise week, on the bright side!” The interruption to the schedule means that live viewers will have to wait to find out Mervin’s (Don Gilet) fate.
In the previous episode DS Naomi Thomas (Shantol Jackson) was seen speeding down the roads of Saint Marie to find Commissioner Selwyn (Don Warrington). After tracking him down she, in front of the rest of the team, alerted the Commissioner of her suspicions that something terrible had happened to the inspector.
Fast forward to Mervin seemingly regaining consciousness, only to find himself tied to a chair in an unfamiliar house. Jostling against his restraints he asked, “what the hell is going on?”, before saying “you”, as he spots someone.
Directly before his apprehension, Mervin had convinced himself to make the trip to Antigua to see his wayward brother Solomon (Daniel Ward) to discuss their mother’s estate. He also tentatively hoped to patch things up after their clash of personalities (and Solomon stealing his possessions) led to the previously estranged half-brothers falling out.
“I think phrases like ‘two peas in a pod’, do not apply,” Gilet mentioned in a BBC press release. “They couldn’t be more opposite. There’s Mervin and then there’s this guy who is on the opposite side of the tracks, potentially the opposite side of the law too…”
He added: “There’s just something that Mervin can’t quite put his finger on. He’s having to accept that whatever his notions were about what Solomon could be like, it might not be like that.”
