Beyond Paradise season 5 finally confirms return date and the BBC crime drama is arriving very soon
The Death in Paradise spin-off's new season will debut this month!
Beyond Paradise season four is on its way! The Death in Paradise spin-off is set to return on Friday 27 March and will pick up with newlyweds DI Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) and Martha (Sally Bretton) post their Christmas Special nuptials.
The BBC crime series is taking over from Death in Paradise as prime Friday viewing, with the parent show airing its final episode of the season on Friday 20 March.
Beyond Paradise‘s latest season is set to bring more quirky mysteries from Devon’s fictional town Shipton Abbott as the synopsis reads: “Fact and folklore blur as [DI Humphrey and his team] investigate the death of a novelist who predicted their demise, a magical night of Dark Morris that soon turns sour, a stolen treasure map that suddenly reappears, and the alleged sighting of a vengeful mermaid lurking out at sea.”
Meanwhile, “DI Humphrey Goodman and Martha launch into married life as they search for a new home, whilst Humphrey wrestles with an impossible decision that may change the lives of everyone at the station forever”.
Joining Marshall and Bretton, for what is tipped to a be a tumultuous ride this season, is Zahra Ahmadi whose DS Esther Williams was still feeling the effects of her break up with Archie Hughes (Jamie Bamber) when we last saw her.
Bamber will also be back along with Dylan Llewellyn as PC Kelby Hartford, Barbara Flynn as Martha’s mother Anne Lloyd, Felicity Montagu as Margo Martins, and Melina Sinadinou as Esther’s daughter Zoe Williams.
Series regulars Eva Feiler and Phil Daniels will also return as Lucy Thompson and Marvelous Harris, respectively.
As always, the brand-new series welcomes a new crop of guests including Gavin & Stacey‘s Melanie Walters, Happy Valley‘s Rina Mahoney, Sherwood‘s Andrea Lowe, Downton Abbey’s Rachel Cassidy, The War Between the Land and the Sea‘s Colin McFarlane, Poldark‘s Tristan Sturrock, Ackley Bridge‘s Narinda Samra and more.
The first-look pics of Beyond Paradise released earlier this month gave fans a sneak peek at some of the guest stars in action as well as the main cast ahead of the season four debut.
