Emmerdale viewers are convinced a former Dales resident is set to make a comeback to the ITV soap as part of Dawn Taylor’s departure storyline.
Dawn (played by Olivia Bromley) first appeared on the long-running series in 2018 – and it wasn’t long before she became embroiled in several major plotlines in the iconic village.
From battling her drug addiction to turning to sex work, Dawn’s time in the Dales has been anything but uneventful. Last year she stunned viewers when she embarked on an affair with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
Dawn, a mother to Lucas Taylor, adopted daughter Clemmie Reed, and son Evan Fletcher, betrayed husband Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) by pursuing a romance with Joe. The secret eventually unravelled and Joe and Dawn have pressed ahead with their relationship.
More recently, Dawn revealed she was carrying Joe’s child. However, after discovering Joe’s devious and sinister nature, she has devised a scheme to strip him of his fortune and distribute it amongst the villagers he wronged as restitution, reports the Daily Star.

Furthermore, in March it was reported that the soap had written out Olivia after her eight years portraying Dawn Taylor, with the actress due to shoot her final scenes later this year.
Now, fans are adamant that a familiar face could be returning to the village as part of Dawn’s exit arc. Viewers online have been predicting the return of her mother Rose (Christine Tremarco).
Viewers will recall Rose arrived in the Dales in April 2024 and sparked considerable drama. Beyond attempting to destroy Kim Tate’s (Claire King) marriage, she also vanished and was feared deceased. Nevertheless, she ultimately departed the village in August 2024 to start afresh abroad.

“They should get Dawn’s mum back for her exit,” remarked one person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page. Someone else contributed: “Oh yes Rose.” A third weighed in: “Yes I’d like her to come back.”
Before her Emmerdale role, Rose actress Christine Tremarco featured in the likes of Waterloo Road, Casualty and Clink.
She also portrayed Manda Miller in the Netflix hit Adolescence, and secured an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series.
