There has been a tragic update on two sisters, aged 2 and 13, who were pulled from a house fire and rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Two young girls have died in hospital after being pulled from a house fire in Townsville.

The blaze tore through a home on Gum Court, Bushland Beach at about 5.40am on Sunday.

A GoFundMe has been launched by a family friend to support the children’s mother, Karah, who works as a nurse.

“In a matter of moments, the fire destroyed her home and displaced her entire family,’ the fundraiser read.

“While Karah has spent her career caring for others, she is now facing the unimaginable — fighting for her children’s lives while having lost the place they once called home.”

In a statement, the family said they were facing “overwhelming challenges all once”.

“We want to sincerely thank the community, hospital staff, emergency services and everyone who has reached out with messages of support during this difficult time,” they said.
