Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Karen’s Karma For This Hateful Comment About Fatima Came Back To Bite Her

Karen’s Karma? Why That One Scene in Sistas Still Matters

Karen’s been through a lot in recent episodes of Tyler Perry’s Sistas. Losing a child is unimaginable pain, and no one’s denying that. As Miss Lisa told Fatima in Season 5 — “As much as you think you understand, wait until you have children. It’s magnified a thousand times more.” That’s real.

But with all the talk about possible tension between Karen, Fatima, and Zac in the coming episodes, I keep going back to one particular moment from Season 5. In a recent video, I mentioned it while discussing whether Karen’s stress might have contributed to her stillborn baby. And yes, it’s a morbid thought — but if Karen had been forced to choose which child lived, I believe she would have chosen Zac’s baby over Aaron’s.

Why? Because in her Season 5 letter to Zac, she wrote:

“I want this hold you have over me to be gone… but I also want this baby I’m carrying to be yours.”

Karen is a walking contradiction. She wanted to be free from Zac emotionally… yet wanted the deepest connection possible with him.

The Return of Miss Lisa

When Miss Lisa reappeared in Season 5 after being absent since Season 1, she went into instant mama-bear mode. She hadn’t been around for all the drama Karen had stirred up in Seasons 2, 3, and 4 — but the moment Karen was hospitalized, she started lashing out at everyone.

When Zac came by to check on Karen, Miss Lisa refused to let him see her and even grilled him about being with someone else. Then Fatima showed up… and we got one of the most disrespectful moments in the series.

Miss Lisa asked Fatima if she had children. Before Fatima could answer, Karen smugly cut in:

“No. No, she doesn’t.”

It was low-key one of the most cutting things Karen has ever said. She was on her high horse, convinced she was carrying Zac’s baby — the ultimate connection she could hold over Fatima — without knowing Fatima had once suffered a miscarriage in high school.

When the Tables Turn

Fast forward to now. Karen has lost the very child she was so certain would be hers and Zac’s. And Fatima? She’s pregnant with Zac’s baby. If you believe in karma, this is about as clear as it gets.

This isn’t to bash Karen fans — she’s been through hell lately, and Ebony Obsidian has delivered powerful performances. But we can’t act like Karen hasn’t been petty, disrespectful, or even downright toxic in the past. She’s rolled up to Zac’s home unannounced, parked outside for hours, and tried to reclaim him while Fatima was literally inside the house. That’s not “passionate love” — that’s stalking behavior.

Patterns Don’t Lie

Some viewers argue that Karen is changing, but history says otherwise. In earlier seasons, she’s promised to avoid drama, only to revert to old habits as soon as she feels slighted. That’s why I’m skeptical that grief alone will cause permanent growth.

If anything, the show is bringing her story full circle:

  • She once mocked Fatima for not having children.

  • She lost her child with Zac.

  • Fatima is now carrying Zac’s next child.

What goes around, comes around.
