Emmerdale fans are convinced they know who was responsible for Jimmy King’s death, and it’s not Gabby Thomas or Sadie King. Emmerdale was hit by a devastating tragedy this week as Jimmy King’s story came to a heartbreaking end.
The soap favorite was involved in a horrific crash after his car ploughed into the marquee at Joe Tate and Dawn Taylor’s wedding. Jimmy was left badly injured and trapped inside the wreckage.
However, his condition soon took a devastating turn. In emotional scenes, Jimmy died from his injuries with Nicola by his side, leaving his family facing an unimaginable loss. The chaos was far from over, though, as the wedding marquee exploded shortly afterward.
Friday’s episode, which aired on August 28, brought even more shocking developments. Joe was revealed to have survived the disaster and was taken straight to the hospital, while Dawn went into premature labour and gave birth months ahead of schedule.

Elsewhere, Nicola was forced to share the devastating news of Jimmy’s death with their children. As the aftermath of the crash unfolded, DS Ramsden examined the scene and told Kim Tate that Jimmy appeared to have swerved to avoid someone.
But the biggest clue came moments later, when Gabby Thomas was seen nearby looking visibly uneasy — raising serious questions about whether she knows more about what really happened.
However, some fans just aren’t convinced, with many sharing their thoughts and theories online – and some think Caleb Miligan could be the culprit.
Writing on X, one fan shared, “So who’s the mystery car that ran Jimmy off the road then?? Caleb??”
Another theorised, “Maybe Jimmy got Caleb’s dodgy brakes.”
Someone else said on a Facebook fan page, “Could also be Caleb’s dodgy car parts,” as another agreed, “Maybe faulty brake. Parts from Caleb.”

One fan echoed, “I think the car Jimmy was driving had been fixed with faulty parts. (further storyline) And I also think poor Jimmy got impaled; this is why he couldn’t move to get out. Loss of blood may be, if he did have a heart attack, as some have suggested, would be due to massive blood loss. Maybe! ( suing story leading forward).”
The actor who plays Jimmy has also spoken out about his exit, he said, “I’ve always known that being a King meant Jimmy was a precarious character, so while the news was shocking, it makes sense. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities the show presented and the life it has given me.”
He added, “Jimmy was originally a tough, unkind character – part of a family of snakes. The turning point was the house collapse.
“I realised Jimmy needed an epiphany to survive. I took the idea of him becoming a softer, more comedic man to the producer, Kath, and she agreed. Without that shift, I think he would have been written out years ago.”
