Robert involved in serious accident in Emmerdale as Serena’s secrets are exposed

Ever since setting foot in the village, Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) has been a ticking time bomb full of secrets. Those secrets are set to explode – and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) gets caught in the blast.

Right from day one, Serena seemed too good to be true.

Any character who comes in as a friendly ear to our beloved regulars, dropping pearls of wisdom with an approachable smile, you just know they’re going to end up a serial killer or something. While Serena may not be as bad as all that, she did offer a shoulder to cry on to Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) after she suffered a nervous breakdown at the lake due to Doctor Todd’s horrific assault and the stress of her surrogacy baby lie.

Not only that, but she struck up a friendship with Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) with alarming speed And we all know that befriending two locals is enough to get you a roof over your head in Soapland, so Serena was accepted with open arms.

Serena may not be a serial killer, but she’s certainly interested in them, as she was seemingly fishing for information locally regarding the murderous medic John (Oliver Farnworth), who of course was Robert’s evil half-brother. However, Robert seemingly gets on a lot better with this long lost relative and is pleased to catch up with his long lost cousin.

Not everyone has welcomed Serena to the village. Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) of all people, thinks something is distinctly fishy about the newcomer. Coming from someone with a track record of waving a sword around at his love rivals, he knows what he’s talking about.

But the man-bunned menace is convinced he’s met Serena somewhere before. Considering that he’s spent the past few years behind bars, that limits the options somewhat. The options of screw or prison guard have already been eliminated – so how else could have Serena crossed paths with Kev befor? As a cop… or a robber? Or a private investigator maybe?

The truth is finally about to explode… and it will knock Robert off his feet – literally! In upcoming scenes of Emmerdale, Serena’s behaviour becomes more and more erratic, prompting suspicious from the villagers, leading to huge consequences for Robert.

When Serena hides her laptop research from Robert and Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick), Vanessa smells a rat and tells Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) that Serena was asking questions about John. Moira warns Robert that Serena must never know the truth about John… especially how he died.

Kev, meanwhile, suddenly remembers where he knows Serena from… and spills the tea to tells Robert.

The very next day, whilst walking in the field, Robert is struck unconscious by a runaway farm trailer. Coincidence… or sabotage?

Worried for the man he loves, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller)is suspicious that Serena happened to be at the scene.

Aaron and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) agree to keep an eye on Serena… and what they discover leaves their jaws on the floor?
