EastEnders‘s Ian Beale faces what could be his final night of freedom next week, as he waits to learn whether he’ll be sent down for drink-driving.
As Ian continues to process the horror of accidentally hitting little Jordan with his car, he slowly starts to forgive himself for causing the boy’s serious injury.

Having pleaded guilty to the crime and now contemplating his future on the Square, Ian agrees to drinks with his family to ease his frayed nerves. But when the Beales arrive at Harry’s Barn, incensed Chelsea questions their cause for celebration.
“Chelsea can’t believe what she’s seeing!” says our Walford insider. “Her son has been through an unimaginable ordeal at Ian’s hands, so the protective mum doesn’t see what the Beales could possibly have to celebrate.

Over at Peacock Palace, the ladies are preparing to party before Ian arrives with a bottle of bubbly to spend one final night with his beloved Elaine. With the weight of court hanging over him, Ian is desperate to block out his fears and cling to a little comfort while he still can.
As his fate hangs in the balance, will Ian be sent to prison for what he did to Jordan? Or is the Square stalwart set to stick around?

Before he learns his fate, Ian has some big suspicions about another character next week. After the dramatic family drinks, he confronts his daughter-in-law Lauren and asks her if she’s hiding something.
In upcoming episodes, Lauren’s secret connection with Mark bubbles over, and as the pair continue with their dodgy car scheme, a furious row in a lock-up turns into a moment of passion.

Lauren quickly pulls away from their kiss, realising that there would be devastating consequences if their illicit fling were exposed.
She knows there’s no way Ian could know about this betrayal, so she insists to him that she has nothing to hide and that she loves Peter.
But as Ian continues to question Lauren, could he get to the truth – or could he go to prison before he can do so?
