A k.i.l.l.e.r is revealed on Emmerdale this week, as we finally find out what happened to Ray Walters.
The villain’s body was discovered last week on the ITV soap, with it revealed someone had k.i.l.l.e.d him earlier this month. Laurel Thomas, Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk have all been named suspects by the show, while other characters are also displaying odd behaviour.
Each episode this week sees one suspect take centre-stage, revealing their movements on the day Ray d.i.e.d, as well as any motive. Clues will also tease who is to blame as Ray’s final moments play out onscreen.
Thursday’s episode concludes with the truth being revealed, and Ray’s k.i.l.l.e.r will be identified. It promises to be a thrilling and twist-filled week of episodes, with lives no doubt changing forever.
Fans ‘rumble real k.i.l.l.e.r’ after Monday’s episode
Viewers think Monday’s episode has given away Ray’s k.i.l.l.e.r – but it’s not Laurel or Arthur.
A scene at the very end of Monday’s flashback episode saw Graham Foster make his big return to the village. He seemed to be watching as Ray turned on Arthur. Now, fans think he will k.i.l.l Ray. A fan wrote: “I said Laurel but now I’m thinking Graham or an associate did it on his behalf.”
Another fan said: “Left field but maybe Graham,” as a third fan agreed: “I will say Graham.” A further theory read: “Ray’s whodunnit week seems to take the exact same format as Graham’s, being a different POV each day.
“Happens exactly 6 years later, just as Graham is set to return. The mirror makes it seem kind of obvious to me that Graham is the culprit.”
Soap swap?
Joe Absolom started his career as Matthew Rose on EastEnders, and, having now had a stint on Emmerdale, impressed soap fans have suggested he moves over to Weatherfield to star on Coronation Street. One fan said: “I am gonna miss Joe on my screen though. I think he’s a great actor and not on tv enough. Oh well, he’s still got the cobbles left to go!” and another said: “Joe Absolom has been fantastic throughout this as Ray!”
The next suspect revealed…
Tuesday’s episode replays the events of Ray’s final day, this time from another perspective. Rhona is the second suspect, and in her episode we see what she’s been hiding.
We finally find out how she may be involved, and there’s also the return of a familiar face.

Actress ‘rules out’ character as Ray’s k.i.l.l.e.r
Charlotte Bellamy may have ruled out her character Laurel is Ray’s k.i.l.l.e.r, but is she trying to throw viewers off the scent? The star claims she might be too honest for such a crime.
She shared: “She is just numb [to hear Ray has d.i.e.d]. It’s such a complicated thing for her to process.
“She’s a woman of faith and she loved him. I don’t think the audience will think she could have done it, but they’ll have to watch and find out.”
On if Laurel could cope with being a k.i.l.l.e.r she added: “100% not. That would make it really difficult for her.”

Could it be Arthur? Or is there a new twist on the way?
Amid theories that Arthur Thomas will be revealed as Emmerdale villain Ray Walters’ k.i.l.l.e.r, fans have predicted a new twist. Read more here…
Ray actor’s regrets over d.e.a.t.h twist
Only one person has been devastated by Ray’s d.e.a.t.h – and that’s Joe Absolom, who plays him.
The actor told The Mirror: “Joe says: “I’ve started to think ‘why did I say k.i.l.l me off?’ That said, Ray had to get his comeuppance. I think the audience is happy. He couldn’t stay in the soap.
“There has to be a moving on but, as an actor, I have loved it and I could easily stay forever.” Read more on Joe’s reaction here.
Laurel hears the truth from Ray
Laurel has finally learned the truth about Ray and his drugdealing ways, and she was furious to learn that he and Celia had groomed April and Dylan into. One fan wrote: “Poor Ray he thought Laurel would be his saviour. Who m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d this poor mentally unwell man? Whoever it is I hope they burn in hell,” whilst another wrote: “Ray is an absolute creep, I knew he would go to the back door of Laurels But I still reckon it was Graham who m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d him” and another simply praised the performance of Charlotte Bellamy as her alter-ego discovered the truth.
Back from the dead?
Amid all the madness of flashback week, one fan has predicted that Celia could in fact be Ray’s k.i.l.l.e.r – even though he was seen stabbing her, supposedly to d.e.a.t.h, on New Year’s Day. The fan said: “Just had a thought, Celia isn’t dead and she is the one that k.i.l.l.s Ray!”

Fans say ‘it’s a shame’ how things ended with Ray
Some fans had caught tonight’s episode early on ITVX and took to social media to praise the way the flashback had filled in the blanks but insisted that things could have ended very differently. One fan wrote on X: “The way #Emmerdale give Ray a decent backstory in tonight’s episode only for him to get k.i.l.l.e.d off. Such a shame because Joe Absolom is brilliant and I feel Ray could’ve genuinely been redeemed.” But another disagreed as they said: “Idk I feel like the stuff he did is too much to come back from, there’s just some stuff that can’t be redeemed!”
Who k.i.l.l.e.d Ray?
Emmerdale have teased that either Laurel, Marlon or Rhona are the k.i.l.l.e.r. Fans are not so convinced though, believing they are all a red herring.
While each episode this week focuses on Laurel, Marlon or Rhona, other characters are also featured and possibly up to no good. These include Ross Barton, Graham Foster, Arthur Thomas and Paddy Dingle.
So could one of these be the real k.i.l.l.e.r?

Laurel’s guilty…
Monday’s Emmerdale focuses on suspect Laurel, the love interest of Ray. We finally see her reaction to his crimes being exposed, and the moment she confronts him.
In worrying scenes, Ray will barge into her house as he tries to defend his actions. Laurel isn’t hearing it though, and soon she’s tasked with making sure he faces justice, or letting him walk away.
Soon, her son Arthur and her pal Nicola King are involved. But will events lead to Laurel turning k.i.l.l.e.r?

Laurel’s motive and clues revealed
Laurel was officially named a suspect by the soap, and fans are also wondering if she will turn k.i.l.l.e.r. After all, she fell for a man who she didn’t really know at all.
Hearing what he put teens Dylan and April through has left her sickened. In the aftermath of Ray’s d.e.a.t.h we’ve seen her clearly hiding something.
She threw away Ray’s rucksack, was seen frantically cleaning a pair of scissors and was nervous when quizzed by police. She’s also been seeking forgiveness in church. So is Laurel to blame, or could she be covering for someone?
