ITV Emmerdale couple rekindle romance after six years as fans fume ‘big mistake’
Emmerdale viewers were left speechless after an unexpected couple reunited on Thursday
An “iconic” Emmerdale couple have rekindled their romance after six years, though numerous viewers are “disappointed”. ITV soap followers will recall that Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) was k.i.l.l.e.d off in a whodunnit storyline six years ago.
Whilst his wife at the time, Kim Tate (Claire King), was originally suspected of orchestrating his m.u.r.d.e.r, it was, in fact, Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) who was wrongfully jailed for the crime. Emmerdale fans were consequently shocked to witness Graham’s return to the village during the Corriedale crossover in January.
In a flashback sequence, Graham visited his former partner, Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), disclosing that he had staged his d.e.a.t.h, and subsequently returned to assist April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) in escaping from villain Ray Walters (Joe Absolom).
Graham then proceeded to visit Kim and his former right-hand man Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) at Home Farm. Following some initial resistance, Joe ultimately welcomed Graham back into his life and let him move into a spare bedroom at Home Farm – much to Kim’s annoyance, reports the Daily Star.

The inhabitants of Home Farm have recently had much to celebrate, following Moira Dingle’s (Natalie J Robb) reluctant decision to sign away her shares of Butler’s Farm to Kim this week.
This development has generated considerable tension amongst the Dingle family, after Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) agreed to become a tenant farmer. During Thursday’s (March 12) episode, now available for streaming on ITVX, Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) informed Kim that she had seen Graham speaking with Rhona the previous day, to which Kim swiftly responded that it didn’t concern her.
Graham then approached Rhona and requested a meeting later, or he would maintain his distance permanently – leaving Rhona with a significant decision to make. Later, an anxious Graham waited for his ex on the footbridge, oblivious to the fact that Rhona had been delayed after her daughter, Ivy Malcolms (Margot Rose Dalley), had a fall at nursery.

After arranging for Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) to babysit, Rhona hurriedly left to meet Graham, but arrived too late. Graham had already returned to Home Farm, and surprisingly made advances towards Kim.
“I’d forgotten just how beautiful you are when you’re angry, and right now you look irresistibly furious. Almost as furious as you were that first night we crossed the line, [and] went from strictly business to something more,” Graham expressed.
“Fate has brought me back into your life for a reason. After so long apart, just seeing you again has brought it all back… We know better than anyone, life’s brutal and short. What’s the harm in seizing the day, grabbing a moment of hope whilst we still can?” He added: “You’ve wanted me, and I’ve wanted you. We’re two halves of the same soul, you and I.”
Graham and Kim then shared a passionate kiss in the hallway. The former couple soon made their way upstairs, just before the camera focused on Graham’s mobile, showing that Rhona was attempting to reach him.

Soap fans will recall that Kim and Graham had an “iconic” yet strained marriage, which ended dramatically with Kim orchestrating her husband’s m.u.r.d.e.r in 2020. ITV viewers were therefore taken aback by the pair’s reunion, with many expressing their dismay online.
“Big mistake Graham,” one individual posted on a Facebook fan page, whilst another chimed in: “I’m so disappointed.” A third commented: “I’m disappointed in Graham when his heart is clearly with Rhona,” with another viewer similarly stating: “I really believed Graham wanted Rhona… I’m sad now he’s gone off with Kim.”
Will Graham and Kim manage to reconcile, and how will Rhona react when she discovers the truth? We’ll have to wait and see.
