EXCLUSIVE: Emmerdale star teases Joe Tate’s downfall as Moira ‘biding her time’ for revenge
Emmerdale's Moira Dingle actress Natalie J Robb has told The Mirror there could well be a downfall for Joe Tate after he has made so many enemies, with Moira biding her time
Joe Tate’s downfall could be inevitable according to one Emmerdale favourite.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, actress Natalie J Robb warned her character Moira Dingle was biding her time where revenge on Joe was concerned. Evil Joe, who Natalie described as a “narcissist”, has got a list of enemies at this point after his unforgivable actions.
He set up events that led to Moira being accused of human trafficking before she was then imprisoned for a double murder she did not commit. Joe has also blackmailed the Sugdens as well as targeting the Dingle family.
Moira has sold her farm land to the Tates now, amid her husband Cain Dingle’s cancer diagnosis. But Natalie made it clear this is no way a defeat, and Moira will be biding her time before she can sort things, that’s if someone else doesn’t take their revenge first.
While she admitted there’s no confirmed scenes as of yet that will see Joe targeted, she’s sure it’s all leading to something. Natalie told us: “It definitely heats up between the Dingles and the Tates, especially Moira and Joe. I guess he’s under her radar, that’s for sure, there’s no two ways about that.
“What’s lovely about the scenes that we did with Kim is that you saw there was that mutual respect between them. She doesn’t have that with Joe, absolutely not. Joe’s a different kettle of fish.
“He’s just a businessman, he just wants to win, win, win. That’s his motto. Whereas Kim Tate is a business woman, and she hasn’t been great in the past, but she’s not as low-level evil as Joe. He’s just a proper narcissist.”
As we discussed Joe’s likeness to his villainous late father Chris Tate, Natalie went on to say where it could all lead, amid spoilers revealing Joe plans for Moira’s late daughter Holly’s memorial to be destroyed on the farm. She shared: “It is too far, she knows that.
“But these are little chinks in the armour for her, she’s like right okay, everything’s banked. She wants to sort things out, but it could be something she ends up sitting on, there might be a bit of a waiting game there.”
It might not just be Moira wanting payback though. As we asked if Moira was biding her time, Natalie agreed and warned: “We’ll see what the producers are going to come up with story-wise.
“I mean, there is a queue but you never know, the queue’s getting larger and larger, so that might make for a story later on in time, but we’ll see. It’s exciting. I’m enjoying the change of things, to be honest, I am. It is different.
“And do you know what’s nice? We’re working with all different kind of actors now, we’re working across the board. You’re not just working in your group of people, we’re working with a lot of different actors, so I quite like that, so the variety of that’s been quite nice.”
