Mandy Dingle dropped a tearful confession during Wednesday’s Emmerdale episode.
It could spark huge changes for her and other characters, and could also see the end of a short era. As Mandy supported her husband Paddy Dingle after his court verdict, she was hiding her own turmoil.
Paddy realised something was wrong though and checked in with her, after tracking her down at the salon she owned and worked in. As he walked in he realised the place was empty, despite Mandy’s claims she had customers.
He also saw that she was crying, and why she tried to cover it up she ended up breaking down in tears. A concerned Paddy comforted her and begged her to open up about whatever it was that was bothering her.

As Mandy protested that everything was fine, Paddy asked her to be honest as he wanted to help solve her mystery problem. But Mandy said nothing would be able to fix it, and she dropped the devastating bombshell about her salon being in trouble.
She confirmed that for a while now, there had been no bookings and no walk-ins either. Everyone was trying new salons in town, and business at Mandy’s salon had completely stopped.
Behind on payments and struggling with rent, Mandy feared it was the end of her business and she was out of options. Telling Paddy she didn’t think the salon would survive, she was in tears as Paddy feared it was all down to his and his dad Bear’s prison drama.
Mandy said he was overthinking it, but it was clear things could not go on the way they were. Spoilers now appear to confirm it’s game over and that the salon will be closed.

Mandy is heartbroken in an upcoming episode as it is closed, marking the end of her time there, possibly, after around six years. With that it’s all change, as Mandy is set to seek work, with Bear, at Caleb Miligan’s depot.
So no more salon life for Mandy, for now, and instead we could be getting some hilarious scenes with other villagers at the depot. This will of course see her interacting with different characters, while it will also be a big shift for her and Paddy as they get through recent events.
Paddy was in court over the murder of villain Ray Walters, who was killed by his dad Bear after Ray tried to kill Paddy and Dylan Penders. Bear has been released from prison and is back in the village.
