Emmerdale’s John riddled with guilt over what he does next to Cain
John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) learnt a few days ago that Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) are going to try and work out who k.i.l.l.e.d Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) in Emmerdale.
With no intention of holding his hands up and confessing to k.i.l.l.i.n.g Nate, John came up with an idea to steer the police in another direction, and hopefully give Cain and Tracy some closure.
During one of his house visits, John was tasked with going to Owen’s. This is the man who spiked Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) a few weeks ago, and also told John recently that he’s ‘not right in the head’.
When John entered, he found Owen unconscious. With knowledge that he was struggling with drink and drugs, an idea started to form for John.

Instead of calling an ambulance, he just…let Owen d.i.e.
He created a backstory by writing a note on Owen’s laptop, which will claim that he m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d Nate.
In upcoming episodes, DS Walsh tells Cain and Tracy about this development.
John then heads to see Cain, hoping to see an improvement in him after the news about Owen. Frustratingly for John, Cain is still in turmoil.

The mechanic then heads to see Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and bombards him with questions about Owen. The GP reuses to breach patient confidentiality, and Cain loses it with him.A while later, Liam tells John about his interaction with Cain and opens up about the harrowing effect of losing a child. John becomes consumed with guilt, realising Owen’s so-called confession has just robbed Cain of getting justice.
