Emmerdale’s Caleb digs up body but fans ‘work out’ it’s not Anthony’s

Emmerdale fans are not convinced that the body Caleb Miligan (Will Ash) dug up belongs to Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day). Fans will recall that Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) believed he was responsible for Anthony’s d.e.a.t.h after brutally attacking him. In reality, it was Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) who delivered the fatal blow, after suffering years of abuse at the hands of her father.
And it was John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) who helped them cover up the crime by burying Anthony’s body. The location had remained a mystery until now, when John used it to blackmail Caleb into helping him escape the country after his crimes came to light. John had been in hiding since everyone in the village discovered he k.i.l.l.e.d Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) and was also behind a string of dangerous incidents that put many lives at risk.
Threatening Caleb by claiming he would tell the police the truth about what happened to Anthony, John managed to escape to Rotterdam in the back of the businessman’s van.
Just before they headed to the border, John thanked Caleb for his help and handed him a note revealing the location of Anthony’s body. As Caleb stuck to his end of the bargain, John deleted the scheduled email to the police detailing the truth about Anthony’s d.e.a.t.h.
During Thursday’s (September 25) episode of the ITV soap, Caleb dug up Anthony’s body and headed to the Woolpack to reveal his involvement in John’s escape. Caleb confirmed that John was telling the truth about where Anthony’s body was, but fans aren’t so sure.
Taking to social media with their theories, one wrote: “It won’t be Anthony’s body – it’ll be someone else’s.”

“Knowing John that’s probably someone else’s body,” echoed a second as another penned: “Oh come on-That is seriously not Anthony’s body that’s buried there!”
A fourth weighed in: “I presume that’s sadly not the last we’ve seen of John (and his never ending threats about Anthony who sadly is clearly not d.e.a.d).”
Someone else posted: “Tbh knowing John, it could be anyone buried there. So how will we know for sure that it’s Anthony?”
Others were convinced that the body belonged to some sort of animal, while one fan went as far as suggesting the body was Ella Forster’s (Paula Lane).
