Emmerdale viewers are forecasting the comeback of a soap icon to stir up some drama on Sarah Sugden and Jacob Gallagher’s wedding day.
Sarah (played by Katie Hill) has been through a tough few months. Living with a life-limiting illness, she recently made the decision to have a baby and embarked on an IVF journey.
Her former boyfriend Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) backed Sarah’s choice and offered to be the sperm donor – an offer which Sarah accepted.
However, Sarah was later diagnosed with cancer, and in a heartbreaking twist, she had to undergo a hysterectomy, meaning she can no longer bear children.

The news left Sarah shattered, but her grandmother Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) came up with another plan, determined to help Sarah, reports Belfast Live.
Charity suggested the idea of becoming Sarah’s surrogate – but the family, including Charity’s husband Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) and Jacob’s grandfather Eric (Chris Chittell), didn’t take well to the news.

This week, however, the soap unveiled a significant twist when Jacob attempted to distract Sarah from the baby drama by taking her out for a picnic.
Declaring his desire to be more than just friends again, Jacob professed his love to Sarah. He then proposed to her, and despite being taken aback, Sarah said yes.
But now, as Jacob and Sarah’s wedding approaches, fans believe a former resident is set to return and cause a stir on their big day.
Fans have predicted Andy’s return
Expressing their theories on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers speculate that Sarah’s father Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) could make a comeback.
“Sarah’s wedding would be the perfect opportunity for Andy to return,” pondered one viewer. Another concurred: “I agree.” A third chimed in: “Same, he should have come back months ago!”.
Devotees will remember that Andy first graced our screens back in 1996. During his tenure on the ITV soap, Andy found himself embroiled in a multitude of high-drama storylines.
After enduring years of upheaval, Andy chose to flee the village in 2016, having been wrongfully accused of Lawrence White’s (John Bowe) accidental shooting by Chrissie (Louise Marwood).
