Emmerdale has aired a dramatic showdown, leaving one character dead.
During Thursday’s (August 6) trip to the Yorkshire village, Dr. Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) made an unwelcome return following her blackmail plot and sexual assault on Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).
Todd entered Charity’s home uninvited after she had been to her support group for rape victims, leaving her completely floored.
On Sunday (August 9), the aftermath of Todd’s comeback continued as she maliciously accused Charity of spreading lies.
Charity demanded that her attacker leave Jacobs Fold, but the evil villain refused and grabbed Charity’s phone so that she couldn’t call for help.

Todd threatened to sue Charity for slander and continued to refuse to acknowledge what she had done.
She also threatened to tell Charity’s granddaughter, Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), that her baby daughter is in fact the biological child of Charity and Ross Barton (Mike Parr).
This left Charity furious, and she pinned Todd to the sofa while pulling her hair before delivering an impassioned speech about who the real liar is.
In a twist, Charity suddenly felt empowered and bravely took back control, giving Todd a glass of water and demanding that she listen to what she had to say.
She told Todd about the harrowing rape ordeal she suffered as a teenager and how Todd’s actions have now affected her.

She urged Todd to confess to her crime and acknowledge that there are other victims of her horrific actions.
During the tense exchange, Sarah quietly entered Charity’s home and missed any talk of baby Leyla’s true parentage, but was sickened to hear the disturbing details of Todd’s sexual assault on Charity.
Sarah slammed the front door to make her presence known and was infuriated by Todd. As the doctor tried to leave, Sarah pulled her back.
“Where do you think you are going?” Sarah asked as Charity demanded that Todd leave the house.

Sarah added, “So she just gets away with it? First, she bullies my husband, and then she attacks you”, while Todd smirked.
As the row got out of hand, Sarah pushed Dr. Todd and accidentally caused her to hit her head on a coffee table before falling to the ground and losing consciousness.
The scene explained why Todd’s lifeless body was recently seen in a flashforward sequence.
