During last week’s scenes, the ITV drama featured a whodunnit storyline centring on villain Ray Walters. Thursday’s episode saw Ray remain determined about fleeing the village and starting fresh somewhere new.
With Paddy Kirk ready to alert the authorities, Ray threatened young Eve, leaving both Paddy and Dylan Penders distraught as they grappled with their options.
By the episode’s end, Ray had cornered Paddy in his sitting room, issuing violent threats against both him and Dylan.
However, in a shocking twist, Bear made a surprise return to the village after being presumed deceased in previous episodes, stunning Dylan, Paddy and Ray.

During a brutal confrontation, Bear fatally attacked Ray whilst attempting to protect his son Paddy and Dylan, despite their pleas for him to cease.
Following the explosive instalment, Paddy and Dylan have formed a conspiracy of silence, assisting a troubled Bear in covering up and concealing the killing.
Discussing his character’s trajectory, Bear actor Joshua revealed to Metro: “How he moves on I don’t know. It’s a painful process and I’m looking forward to the complexities with the writers and producers and the directors to find out where the journey goes next and what pathways we’re going to go down.
“We’ve just been filming stuff already today and I’ve been shouting at Paddy. So maybe he’s getting back to his old self if he’s shouting at people! But he’s still not right and this will take some time.

“The relationship between the two is an ongoing one – sometimes tenuous, sometimes loving, sometimes difficult, sometimes exhilarating. I’m so fortunate to be having the pleasure and honour of working with the wonderful Dominic Brunt [who plays Paddy].”
It emerges as spoilers this week reveal Paddy confronts a discussion with DS Walsh.
Subsequently, DS Walsh informs Paddy that officers are eager to question Celia regarding Ray’s murder.
Paddy waits until she’s beyond hearing range before briefing Dylan on this encouraging development…
