Emmerdale April Windsor’s real age revealed and fans are floored
Emmerdale fans have been questioning April Windsor's age after the character's intense recent storylines involving grooming and police investigations on the ITV soap
April Windsor, played by Amelia Flanagan, is a beloved character on ITV’s Emmerdale – but just how old is she?
April made her first appearance in 2014 as the daughter of Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Donna Windsor (Verity Rushworth), and it’s safe to say she’s been at the heart of some major soap storylines.
From the heartbreaking loss of her mother to homelessness, April’s journey in the Dales has been anything but dull.
In recent times, she found herself ensnared in a dangerous world of crime, child exploitation and drugs, manipulated by the villainous Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) and his mother Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths).
Fortunately, April managed to escape their grasp, and both Ray and Celia have since met their end. However, after admitting to the police about crimes she committed under their influence, April has been living in fear of being sent to a young offenders institution.
In Thursday’s episode (February 12), DS Walsh (Amanda Ryan) paid April a visit to deliver the verdict. Much to April’s relief, the detective informed her that she was no longer under suspicion, reports the Daily Star.
Given April’s involvement in such significant storylines recently, questions have arisen about her age. The character of April is currently 16, having been born on 13th August 2009. As for actress Amelia, she is 17 and will celebrate her 18th birthday on 6th June.
When Amelia turned 17 last year, fans expressed their surprise, with one commenting: “Aw thought she was younger, happy birthday chick.” Another chimed in: “I thought that too, a talented performer for sure!”.
