EastEnders has thrown a curveball at Howie Danes, with Anthony Trueman unveiling a secret that viewers believe could have catastrophic repercussions.
Earlier this week on the BBC soap, Howie (played by Delroy Atkinson) surprised Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) with a proposal using a pilfered ring.
However, Anthony (Nicholas Bailey) grew suspicious and unearthed the truth about the ring’s origins, pressuring Howie to come clean.
In a twist of events, Howie conducted his own sleuthing and found out that Anthony’s ex-wife, Sophie, had filed a restraining order against him. The two men agreed to keep each other’s secrets under wraps, but their pact was short-lived.

During Wednesday’s visit to Walford (December 3), Anthony splashed out on a crate of champagne as Howie and Kim geared up for their engagement bash, reports OK!
When Kim couldn’t resist complimenting Anthony on his generosity, Howie quickly retorted, insinuating that Anthony wasn’t as virtuous as he seemed, and spilled the beans about the restraining order.
Kim was livid, and despite promising Howie she would keep the information confidential, her anger got the better of her, leading her to confront Anthony at the surgery.
But Anthony was soon faced with another revelation as Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier) admitted that Howie had coerced him into handing over Patrick Trueman’s (Rudoh Walker) stolen money following an assault earlier in the year.

Anthony later unleashed a tirade on Howie as their family gathered for the festivities.
“He knew who attacked you, dad!”, Anthony cried out. “He blackmailed Oscar and Lauren, and he kept the money for himself! Oh, and Kim, that ring – it’s stolen. This humble delivery man you all so worship is nothing but a blackmailing, two-faced, thieving little weasel!”
As his secrets were laid bare, Howie could only look on in shock, leading EastEnders fans to speculate that he might take d.e.a.d.l.y revenge on Anthony.
Fans took to Reddit to share their theories. One user suggested: “Howie doesn’t plan, he does things on the spot when he doesn’t think? I say perhaps Anthony and him are involved in something that ends in Anthony’s d.e.a.t.h… although poor Patrick if this happens.”

Another fan speculated: “With that idea in mind, I’d find it quite interesting if there was a truly accidental m.u.r.d.e.r. I don’t care for Howie or Anthony, but I feel like that would certainly add some interest in general, especially since Anthony’s character has been a bit off.”
A third fan predicted a dramatic Christmas Day showdown: “I can picture it on Christmas Day: Anthony is in the Vic, it comes out that he’s the stalker. He goes home and sees Howie, who has no idea what’s just come out. They start fighting and Howie k.i.l.l.s him, then tries to frame Zoe/the Slaters.”
One viewer pointed out Howie’s history of deceit: “I think if anyone complained about Howie’s character arc…well, he started off pretending to be Vincent! Fraud right there. He also never went to the police regarding the m.u.r.d.e.r. He has always been dishonest”.
