EastEnders fans are in for a rollercoaster as Max Branning makes a dramatic comeback to Albert Square, and Jack Branning actor Scott Maslen promises “gripping” storylines ahead.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star at the National Television Awards last week, Scott reflected on his 18-year tenure as Jack and the chaos set to unfold with his brother’s return.

“I have always let the show determine what Jack does, it’s their character, I just play him,” Scott revealed. “So I’m always very much excited for whatever they do, I just have to find a way to make sense of it. I have been there 18 years and it’s not slowing down. My brother is coming back, so we know from history these two, it will get interesting, there is a lot coming up – it’s going to be gripping.”

The soap legend also praised the close-knit atmosphere on set, saying it’s the people he works with that keep him coming back.

“I love that I can go to work every morning and it’s just the cast, but the crew as well. I’ve been there for 18 years. I work with a lot of people that I love, I get up every morning and I’m happy to go to work, and I get happy as well,” he explained.

Scott’s comments come as viewers eagerly await the fallout of Max’s return to Albert Square. Over nearly two decades, Jack has witnessed countless dramas unfold, from family feuds to explosive confrontations, and now Scott promises the Branning family saga will reach new heights.
