EastEnders star sparks split rumours from boyfriend of 8 years

Former EastEnders star Clair Norris has sparked speculation that she may have split from her boyfriend of eight years after fans noticed some very telling changes online.

The actress, 28, was in a long-term relationship with Lewis Wood, with the pair first getting together in April 2018.

Clair, who is best known for playing Bernadette ‘Bernie’ Taylor in the BBC soap, regularly gave fans little glimpses into their relationship over the years.

The couple shared holidays together, celebrated milestones and eventually took the next big step in their relationship by moving in together in 2024.

But now, fans have noticed that their social media accounts appear to have been scrubbed of their relationship.

Clair and Lewis no longer appear to follow each other on Instagram, while photographs of the pair together also appear to have disappeared from their respective accounts.

Neither Clair nor Lewis has publicly confirmed that they have split, so for now it remains just speculation.

However, the timing has certainly got people talking.

Clair recently revealed to her 115,000 Instagram followers that she is planning to take her first ever solo holiday, something she admitted she was feeling a little nervous about.

Sharing some gorgeous snaps from a previous trip, the actress asked her followers for advice before heading off on her own.

‘Planning my first ever solo holiday and would absolutely love some advice from anyone who’s been on one,’ she wrote.

‘I’m a little bit nervous, but I want to push myself outside my comfort zone and have some new experiences; after all, life is for living!!’

Clair went on to ask her followers what they loved and disliked about travelling alone, as well as whether they would recommend taking a solo trip.

She also asked for advice on staying safe while travelling by herself and, perhaps most importantly, where she should go first.

It comes after the actress and Lewis previously celebrated some pretty major milestones together.

Back in 2024, the couple marked their sixth anniversary with a meal at Gaucho in Canary Wharf, having been together since 2018.

Clair had also previously spoken about the significance of the 2nd of April, revealing that the date held several special memories for her.

It was the anniversary of her grandmother’s death, the day she first met Lewis and also his birthday.

The pair’s relationship had therefore been a big part of Clair’s adult life, making the recent social media changes all the more noticeable.

Away from her personal life, Clair has also been entering a new chapter professionally.

She shocked EastEnders fans when she left the soap in July 2025 after eight years playing Bernie.

Bernie was one of the Taylor family’s most recognisable members and had been at the centre of plenty of storylines during her time in Walford.

Since leaving Walford, Clair has been keeping busy away from the Square and has also appeared on shows including The Weakest Link and Obesity: Who Cares if I’m Bigger.

For now, Clair hasn’t addressed the speculation surrounding her relationship with Lewis.

And while the social media clues have certainly got fans wondering whether the couple have quietly gone their separate ways, it seems we’ll have to wait for Clair herself to confirm what’s really going on.
