EastEnders’ Eddie Knight makes an unwelcome comeback next week, and he’s got some very significant news to share.

The despicable baddie, portrayed by Christopher Fairbank, was last spotted on the BBC soap in 2024, following the shocking revelation that he had murdered George’s birth father, Henry Asare, back in the ’80s.

In a devastating discovery, Eddie and his spouse, Gloria (Elizabeth Counsell), had taken in George through a twisted practice known as child farming.

With assistance from his former wife, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), George uncovered that he was actually African, not Jamaican as he’d always thought, and had been bought from an African family.

Three individuals are standing close to each other in a warmly decorated interior space. They are positioned in front of a bar area adorned with festive decorations, including a silver bucket and a large bowl. The setting features a red-hued wall and several decorative elements, including framed pictures and lamps.

Ex-boxer George eventually found out that Eddie had murdered Henry in a brutal assault to stop him from reuniting George with his birth family. As a youngster, George witnessed the horrific crime unfold.

He also discovered that Eddie was simply preparing him to testify after being charged with a racially motivated k.i.l.l.i.n.g.. After the proceedings, Eddie was convicted of battering George’s biological father to death and received a life sentence.

During the court case, Gloria suffered a fatal heart attack with George at her bedside. Yet that wasn’t George’s final encounter with Eddie.

Feeling overwhelmed, Nicola isn’t in a celebratory mood and demands that everyone leave. The lovely gathering concludes with a row between Nicola and George after he turns off his mobile and misses a call from the hospital.

Nicola is stunned by who was calling and rushes to the hospital to confront them, where she comes face-to-face with Eddie Knight, who discloses he’s dying.

Despite Nicola keeping her meeting with Eddie secret from George, he soon works out the truth after discovering a hospital parking ticket, and she’s compelled to confess.

George goes to the hospital to visit Eddie and is taken aback by his frailty, while back on the Square, the remaining Knight family is stunned by his location.
