EastEnders has thrown another curveball for Nicola Mitchell.
She’s expecting her third child although the identity of the baby’s father remains a mystery.
Nicola (played by Laura Doddington), known for her no-nonsense attitude, made her entrance into Albert Square last year as Teddy Mitchell’s (Roland Manookian) estranged wife and mother to troubled Harry (Elijah Holloway) and his brother Barney (Lewis Bridgeman).
Her journey in Walford has been anything but smooth sailing, with the shocking revelation that she was responsible for the d.e.a.t.h of Harry’s girlfriend, Shireen Bashar, who had been missing for three years.
Currently at the helm of wine bar, Harry’s Barn, Nicola found solace in George Knight (Colin Salmon) after they bonded over their past struggles following his split from Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).

However, her life is set to be upended once more after Harry was abducted by Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) and his accomplice, Okie (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu), in retaliation for threatening to expose their drug operation, reports OK!.
After being rescued, Harry spilled the beans to the police, going against his mother’s wishes. But amidst all the drama surrounding Harry, Nicola has another matter preoccupying her thoughts.
In an unexpected turn of events, Nicola is pregnant, but the question of who the father is remains unanswered.

Despite her recent fling with ex-boxer George, some EastEnders enthusiasts are speculating that he might not be the dad, pointing instead towards Zack Hudson.
As viewers are well aware, Zack (James Farrar) was exposed as Barney Mitchell’s (Lewis Bridgeman) real father following a brief encounter with Nicola during his stint as a personal trainer years earlier.
Nicola had kept Zack in the dark about their lad, instead letting Teddy believe he was Barney’s biological father throughout.

Now, certain viewers are convinced the duo has recently rekindled their romance behind the scenes.
One Reddit user posed the question: “Could Nicola’s baby be Jack’s? They slept together once?!”, prompting responses from others who reckon Zack is the dad.
“It’s not impossible that there was a one-nighter that we didn’t get to see. For all we know, she and Zack are having their second together”, one fan speculated.
