Danny Dyer insists he’d turn down a knighthood.

The EastEnders legend, 47, isn’t keen on becoming a Sir.

After seeing his hero Harold Pinter turn one down, he plans to do the same thing if he gets the offer.

Asked if he’s ever been on the honours list, he said: “Have I f***! Harold was my hero and turned down a knighthood.

“He was anti-establishment as well, so I don’t think it’s for me.”

Danny is finally winning over snobby critics after years of being mocked.

The London-born star recently won his first BAFTA gong for his role in Sky comedy Mr Bigstuff.

His performance in racy drama Rivals was also praised by critics and fans.

Danny is promising the next series will be TV gold.

In a chat with the Radio Times, he said: “I can’t reveal much, but what I will say is that we’ve got no issues with the old second album syndrome.

“I’ve been blessed with a lovely character. He’s not the lead and he doesn’t need to be the lead, same as Katherine Parkinson. And yes, we do get a bit more Freddie and Lizzie this time around.”

Dany also has a new film on the way and he has filmed a new reality show with his daughter Dani.

We will see the pair attempt to run a caravan park.

Danny is keen to ride the wave of his recent success and take on more roles, but insists he won’t be tackling Shakespeare any time soon.

He said: “Whatever I do next, it won’t be f***ing Shakespeare. I’ll tell you that now.

“Maybe when I’m pushing 60 I’ll have a go at it, but at the moment, not for me.”

Danny recently revealed he was advised to ditch his cockney accent if he wanted to make it in Hollywood.

The star refused because he thought it was a stupid idea.

He said: “I hated the fact that they wanted me to speak American all the time, which is what you’re meant to do out there. Everyone thought I was Australian.

“Can I be bothered? How desperate do you want to be? I understand that’s where the work is and that’s the ultimate, but can I be bothered to go and live out there on my own… talking American all the time to everybody pretending I’m someone else.? Nah. Can I be f*cked?”

The new interview with Danny is in this week’s Radio Times
