EastEnders spoilers follow for Monday’s (July 2) episode, which can now be streamed on BBC iPlayer. The episode in question will air at 7:30pm.

In one last-ditch attempt to hold onto the little control she had left, Bea Pollard (Ronni Ancona) staged her own murder – and framed Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) for it!

The master manipulator, as viewers know, became obsessed with Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) and deliberately drove a wedge between her and husband Billy in a bid to have her all to herself.

Last month, she set Billy up on a dating app and claimed that he’d tried to sleep with her, much to the horror of Honey, who shockingly believed her new mate over her husband, kicking him out.

Will (Freddie Phillips), however, was adamant that his dad was innocent and thus he joined forces with him in to expose Bea.

He wasn’t the only one on the case, with Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) and Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) all pleading with Honey to see that Bea isn’t who she says she is.

Honey finally saw this for herself when Bea insisted on a cleaning ritual to get Billy out of her life, burning her husband’s prized possessions. When Honey attempted to resist, Bea’s mask slipped.

Later, Honey found the crochet dolls Bea had made – but one of them had a head missing, which left her shaken to the core. Armed with doubt, Honey sought advice from Nicola, who encouraged her to talk to Billy, who reiterated his innocence once more.

Billy revealed that he’d found an old housemate of Bea’s named Ruth, who Honey subsequently met with. Ruth revealed that – just like Honey – she and Bea became best friends.

That is, until Bea tried to get rid of her husband. Ruth was convinced that Bea pushed her husband down the stairs when he supposedly ‘fell’. And in one final revenge attempt, Bea subsequently burned down their home, which led to the death of their beloved dog.

Back on the Square, Billy confronted Bea and told her about Honey’s meeting with Ruth. An altercation ensued, with Bea falling onto some broken glass, hurting her hand. She screamed at the top of her lungs, berating him for cheating on Honey previously before bursting into tears.

Later, she destroyed the living area of the house, splattered red food substance all over the fridge to make it look like blood stains and then phoned the police. With a highly convincing performance – delivered expertly bypowerhouse star Ronni – Bea claimed that she was being attacked by Billy.

When the police showed up and took a look at the state of the house, they revealed to Honey and Nicola that Billy was wanted in connection to the call they received. Horrified, Honey tracked Billy down at the boxing gym and told him all about her conversation with Ruth, before revealing to him that Bea has set him up for her ‘murder’.

The question is: will the police be able to find Bea? And will Billy be able to prove his innocence?
