EastEnders’ Jasmine’s link to Cindy ‘explained’ as Chrissie’s secret family ‘revealed’ – leaving fans SHOCKED
EastEnders fans have rumbled why Jasmine was so obsessed with Cindy when she first arrived in Walford - and it's all to do with who Chrissie Watts may have been before marrying Den
Since Jasmine Fisher was revealed as Zoe Slater’s daughter, EastEnders fans have had one question – why was she so interested in Cindy Beale? Sleuths among viewers may have found an answer to that, and it’s all to do with returning villain, Chrissie Watts.
Chrissie returned on Christmas Eve and was revealed to be working with Zoe’s long-lost daughter to wreak havoc on her life. Though Jasmine was wavering, Chrissie seemed certain that Zoe deserved to be stalked for months.
However, before Jasmine was revealed as Zoe’s daughter earlier this month, she seemed fixated on another Walford resident – Cindy Beale. Her fascination with the woman ultimately ended in a brutal attack in which a suspicious Cindy, who had confronted Jasmine about her mysterious past, was pushed down the stairs and ended up inthe hospital.
Many thought that when Jasmine’s secret identity was unveiled, she would be revealed as a relative of Jackie Ford. The character, who was never seen on screen, shared a prison cell with Cindy until the Beale woman dobbed her in for another crime, leading to a much longer sentence. Jackie’s furious family were so angry, they came after Cindy and forced her into witness protection.
Cindy was convinced that the Fords had come back for her after she was attacked, and that may well be true, even if Jasmine is actually a Slater.
Fans of the show noticed how close Jasmine was to Chrissie when she returned and remembered that Chrissie’s maiden name before he marriage to Den Watts was never known.
As such, she could well be a secret Ford. “I think I have the potential answer to this,” said one fan after another asked why Jasmine was so obsessed with Cindy if she was actually Zoe’s daughter. “And it could be that Chrissie Watt’s former family name before she married Den Watts was Ford.”
Another added that they thought Chrissie might be connected to Anthony Trueman too: “Zoe’s stalker [being Chrissie] makes sense. Them working with Jasmine makes sense. Now, make their maiden name Ford, and make them Anthony’s ex’s long-lost sister. She can kill off Zoe, Cindy and Anthony, and then she can leave too.”
Chrissie has proven to be a schemer before. When she was first on EastEnders in 2005, she masterminded a plan to drive a wedge between her husband and his daughter, Sharon. Chrissie pulled the strings, convincing Zoe and Sam Mitchell to help her ruin Den’s life. She even went so far as to make Zoe believe she had killed Den when actually Chrissie had.
What happens between Chrissie, Jasmine and Zoe will continue in tonight’s (25 December) episodes. Two episodes will air this evening, one at 7:45pm and another at 9:45pm.
