It’s a life-changing week for some characters on EastEnders next week.
There’s some baby news for one family, sparking a row, while a couple are also at risk of falling apart amid a new blackmail twist. Penny Branning drops the news on her loved ones that she’s pregnant, after her father Jack Branning finds a test.
Initially she says nothing but as accusations fly, she’s forced to admit it’s her test. She claims it was negative, before eventually admitting she is in fact expecting a baby.
it leads to plenty of clashing, and Penny soon tells her dad some home truths. Our soap insider revealed: “Penny knows that Jack isn’t happy about it and lies to him, disappointed in his attitude.

“Of course the truth comes out that Penny is pregnant, and she uses the moment to slam her dad for the way he’s treated her, and for his reaction. Jack is left apologising but can he be there for her?”
Soon, Penny confides in her cousin Lauren Branning about her news, as it has the potential to change her life so hugely. When her cousin Oscar Branning accidentally lets slip about the baby scare to the father, Vinny Panesar, there’s more drama.
“Vinny finds out about the scare, and he isn’t clear on the situation. He goes to see her and Penny shares the news with him before allowing him to attend an appointment with her.

“Things soon get a bit infuriating for Penny, but will they decide to keep the baby?” Elsewhere, Callum Highway and Johnny Carter’s romance could come to an end, as the pair fall out before they are hit by a blackmail twist.
After receiving a letter from his ex-husband Ben Mitchell, Callum is ready to walk away. Johnny’s mother Linda Carter, meanwhile, bumps into newcomer Tim and they row about Callum.
Tim tells her that he’s set up a test to see whether he’s the man the Carters think he is. By the time Callum realises he’s been set up it’s too late, and Johnny is furious with him.
Things go from bad to worse when Tim arrives with some damning footage of Callum, and he blackmails him. “Callum has no idea he’s being tricked.
“Tim takes worrying action with a plot to ruin Callum if he doesn’t comply.” Johnny and Callum’s romance is in tatters, but when Johnny tries to reason with Tim, there’s a shocking proposition.
