Death in Paradise’s grand finale was scheduled to broadcast this evening but this will no longer be the case.DI Mervin Wilson (played by Don Gilet) has experienced a turbulent period on Saint Marie this time around, particularly following all of the drama with his brother Solomon (Daniel Ward).
The BBC series will soon be reaching its conclusion for another year but viewers will have to wait longer than anticipated for the final episode.
Why is Death in Paradise not on tonight?
Death in Paradise series 15, episode eight, will unfortunately not be shown on BBC One tonight, Friday, 20 March, as planned.This is because the cosy crime drama has instead been replaced with Comic Relief: Funny for Money, the annual fundraising extravaganza being filmed at MediaCityUK, Salford.
Hosted by familiar faces including Joel Dommett, Davina McCall and Katherine Ryan, Comic Relief will feature a series of sketches from popular programmes like Amandaland and The Traitors.

The charity special will also follow Radio 1 DJ Greg James’ final moments of riding a tandem bike 1,000km across the UK in seven days from Weymouth to Edinburgh.Instead, Death in Paradise fans are going to have to wait another week for the series 15 finale, broadcasting on Friday, 27 March, at 9pm.
This isn’t the first occasion the drama has had to be rescheduled this series either with the show’s timeslot taken over by FA Cup matches on a few occasions. The show’s official Instagram page has given a sneak peek of what to expect from this final episode and it appears it won’t be one to miss as Mervin encounters another family member.

He instructs her to leave his property when she introduces herself as Eloise, Solomon’s daughter and thus Mervin’s niece.
Before entering the cabin, Eloise asks: “So, what would you prefer I call you?
“Uncle Mervin? Uncle Merv? Just Merv? What’s for breakfast?”
In addition to another family reunion, Mervin has to handle an unusual case of a death at sea leading to rumours of a legendary monster of the Caribbean, known as the Lusca.
Death in Paradise season 15 wraps up on Friday, March 27, at 9pm on BBC One.
