Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise star Don Gilet’s famous partner in ‘hopeless’ relationship update
Happy Valley actress Siobhan Finneran has shared a rare insight into her relationship with BBC's Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise star Don Gilet, explaining their separate living arrangements

Siobhan Finneran, 59, has offered a rare glimpse into her romance with Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise star Don Gilet, 58, revealing why they have chosen to maintain separate residences.
The pair initially crossed paths whilst working on ITV crime drama series The Loch, where Siobhan played DCI Lauren Quigley and Don took on the role of forensic psychologist Blake Albrighton.
Approximately one year later in 2018, their professional friendship developed into a romantic relationship. Nevertheless, Siobhan calls Saddleworth home, whilst her partner Don is based in north London.
Despite the geographical gap between their residences, the Happy Valley star explains that she and the DI Mervin Wilson actor manage the situation effortlessly, noting that Don spends most of his time working abroad in Guadeloupe where Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise is shot.

She told The Times: “That’s just the way it is, isn’t it? That’s how it’s always been. And he’s out of the country for seven months a year doing Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise anyway.”
Siobhan continued by disclosing she has journeyed to the French Caribbean island, which she describes as an “amazing place”, to visit Don.
The Protection star was swift to reject suggestions that the duo constitute a “power couple” and confessed that they can be “hopeless” whilst attempting to get themselves organised, joking: “I’ve not heard that one before.”
She added: “We are both off the telly. Other than that we’re pretty normal. You wouldn’t think we were a power couple this morning, both running around trying to get out of the house on time. Hopeless.”

Following considerable speculation, Siobhan initially hinted at her romance with Don when she lovingly called the actor “my fella” during a chat with The Guardian.
Before this revelation, the couple had been seen holding hands at entertainment industry gatherings prior to publicly acknowledging their relationship.
Don is making his comeback to television as DI Mervin Wilson for the Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise Christmas Special.
He will appear alongside guest stars Josie Lawrence, Kate Ashfield, Pearl Mackie and James Baxter for the festive episode.
