Fans of the long-running BBC crime drama Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise have been left decidedly unimpressed after the programme announced changes to the upcoming episode’s schedule.

Typically, the show broadcasts on Friday evenings on BBC One at 9pm, however, viewers will need to wait until Monday (March 9) to watch it on television.

This is due to live coverage of the FA Cup, which will see Wolverhampton Wanderers take on Liverpool. With kickoff scheduled for 8pm, it’ll clash with Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise’s usual slot.

However, those unable to wait for the television broadcast will still be able to stream it on BBC iPlayer on Friday.

Sharing a post on their Instagram, Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise’s account wrote: “Some news about next week’s episode: you’ll be able to watch episode 6 on BBC iPlayer from Friday, but the BBC One broadcast has moved to Monday 9th March.”

“Which does mean you get another double-Paradise week, on the bright side!”

However, it wasn’t long before fans of the programme commented on the alteration, with many displeased by the scheduling reshuffle, reports the Express.

One person said: “Everyone who pays for the TV licence has access to the iPlayer and the Red Button. Put the sports over there. No one cares about ratings anymore.”

Another wrote: “The #BBC should put the football on one of their other channels. Not everyone likes football.”

This marks the second occasion Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise has experienced alterations to its scheduled broadcast this series, following an episode being removed from its regular time slot in early February.

The scheduling announcement follows a tense cliffhanger which left DI Mervin Wilson (Don Gilet) in serious peril.

Footage revealed him coming round whilst restrained to a chair in an unknown location.

Alarmed, he attempts to escape as he shouts, “What the hell is going on?” He subsequently notices someone, evidently behind his predicament, exclaiming: “You!”

Dᴇᴀᴛʜ in Paradise is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
