The much-anticipated fourth series of Beyond Paradise is set to grace our television screens once again, and the BBC has just released a sneak peek trailer showcasing the latest exploits of DI Humphrey Goodman and his team.
The hit BBC show, which debuted in 2023, is a spin-off from the enduring crime drama Death in Paradise. It follows Humphrey’s adventures post-Saint Marie, as he settles into life and work in the seaside town of Shipton Abbott.
The trailer kicks off with a voiceover declaring: “Detective Goodman is back and when it comes to crime, he never slips up.”
This statement is swiftly followed by a comical scene of the hapless DI slipping and falling on a boat. Speaking to someone off-camera, Humphrey requests: “I need two pencils and a pair of underpants.”
The tone then shifts to a more serious note, as it’s revealed there will be staff cuts and Humphrey must decide who from his team to dismiss.
After quick flashes of the upcoming cases – including a suspected murder echoing events from a novel – the trailer concludes with one final scene.
Humphrey and his wife Martha (played by Sally Bretton ), who have previously resided on a houseboat, have made the significant move of buying a house, reports the Express.
Fans of the BBC drama won’t have to wait long for the fourth series, as it’s slated to premiere on Friday 27 March.

The synopsis for the new series states: “Fact and folklore blur as they investigate the death of a novelist who predicted their demise, a magical night of Dark Morris that soon turns sour, a stolen treasure map that suddenly reappears, and the alleged sighting of a vengeful mermaid lurking out at sea.”
It adds: “DI Humphrey Goodman ( Kris Marshall ) and Martha (Sally Bretton) embark on married life as they hunt for a new home, whilst Humphrey grapples with a difficult decision that could alter the lives of everyone at the station forever.”
Earlier this month, it emerged that a host of guest stars would be appearing in Shipton Abbott throughout the forthcoming episodes. Familiar faces returning include Eva Feiler as Lucy Thompson and Phil Daniels as Marvelous Harris.
There’s also no shortage of new arrivals in the BBC programme, including Gavin and Stacey actress Melanie Walters. The 64-year-old Welsh actress portrayed Stacey’s mum Gwen throughout the beloved BBC sitcom.
Additional guest stars joining the cast include Susan George, Colin McFarlane, Michael Cochrane and Vincent Franklin. They’ll be accompanied by Alex Macqueen, Tristan Sturrock, Andrea Lowe, Rachel Cassidy, Emily Stott, Rina Mahoney, Susan Penhaligon, James Clay, Kenneth Collard and Narinda Samra.
