BEYOND PARADISE FUTURE SHOCK: BBC Confirms Its 8PM Replacement — But the “Final Goodbye” Is Not What Fans Fear
🚨 BEYOND PARADISE FUTURE SHOCK: BBC Confirms Its 8PM Replacement — But the “Final Goodbye” Is Not What Fans Fear
Beyond Paradise viewers were left fearing the worst as the BBC drama prepared to disappear from its familiar Friday-night slot. However, the truth behind its replacement is far less final than the word “ending” initially suggests.

The current series reaches its dramatic conclusion with one of Humphrey Goodman’s most unsettling investigations yet — and a case that could pull him in two very different directions.
Nurse Lucy mysteriously vanishes while travelling to work, immediately placing suspicion on Josh Woods, the bitter rival of PC Kelby Hartford. But just as the police believe they may have identified their main suspect, Josh receives a disturbing voicemail that changes the entire investigation.
Lucy can be heard shouting one chilling word — “devil” — before a terrifying, animal-like growl takes over the recording.
Could the message be connected to the sinister local legend of the Devil’s Hump? Or is someone deliberately using the old tale to conceal a far darker crime?

As Humphrey and the Shipton Abbott team follow the increasingly bizarre clues, it becomes clear that Lucy’s disappearance may be only one part of a much bigger mystery. Every new discovery appears to raise another question — and the answer could place someone much closer to the investigation in danger.
At the same time, Humphrey is struggling to keep his personal life from being consumed by the case. Rosie’s birthday is approaching, and he and Martha Lloyd are determined to give her the perfect celebration.
But with the investigation intensifying, Humphrey finds himself torn between his responsibilities as a detective and the family life he and Martha have fought so hard to build. The situation threatens to turn what should be a joyful day into an emotional turning point for them both.

What will replace Beyond Paradise?
After the finale, Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr takes over the BBC One 8pm slot.
The episode sends the remaining designers to Allianz Stadium in Twickenham, the iconic home of English rugby. Their challenge is to transform hospitality suites into an impressive premium experience, complete with a stylish pre-match bar and an elegant dining area.
Restaurateur Nisha Katona joins judge Michelle Ogundehin to decide which contestants have done enough to reach the quarter-final.
However, the replacement programme also faces an unexpected scheduling shake-up.
Under the BBC schedule announced for May 2025, episode five moved from its regular Thursday slot to Friday, 9 May. Episode six was then brought forward to Wednesday, 14 May.
The changes were caused by several major television events. The VE Day 80: A Celebration to Remember special occupied the schedule on Thursday, 8 May, while the Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals aired on Tuesday, 13 May and Thursday, 15 May. The Eurovision Grand Final followed on Saturday, 17 May.
Is Beyond Paradise really ending?
Despite the alarming headlines, Interior Design Masters was only replacing Beyond Paradise after its series finale. It was not confirmation that Humphrey and Martha were being permanently removed from BBC One.
In fact, Beyond Paradise subsequently returned for a fourth series, which premiered on 27 March 2026 and aired weekly until 1 May. Radio Times confirmed the six-episode run.
There are also reports that a fifth series has been commissioned, with production reportedly scheduled for summer 2026 and a possible BBC One return in 2027. However, an exact premiere date has not yet been officially announced, so those details should still be treated as provisional. Wales Online
Therefore, the disappearance of Beyond Paradise from the schedule was not necessarily the devastating farewell some fans feared. The finale closed one chapter for Humphrey and Martha — but their biggest personal and professional test may still be waiting in the next series.
