BBC EastEnders legend ‘set to return after seven years’ as fans spot huge clue
EastEnders fans are convinced they have worked out a big name is set to return to Walford amid Max Branning's comeback on the BBC soap alongside Zoe Slater
EastEnders fans are convinced a big name is set to return to the BBC soap amid Max Branning’s comeback. Jake Wood is reprising his role as Max on the BBC soap and now fans are convinced another famous face is returning.
Alongside a snap of the Brannings – including recently returned Max Branning – Jo Joyner, who played Max’s wife Tanya, commented on the post: “What a team xx”, with fans convinced this could be a clue that Jo is returning as Tanya.
The BBC soap have had many big returns over the last year, and most recently, the truth about Max Branning’s return has been revealed – and his connection to, also recently returned, Zoe Slater.
Jake Wood is reprising his role as Max after leaving the soap four years ago. He is back alongside Michelle Ryan, who plays Zoe Slater, and the pair’s full return to Walford won’t be without chaos.
“I knew that Michelle was coming back – really pleased that she was coming back and she wasn’t being recast iconic character. And I think it’s really interesting to have Max in the mix; it makes everything so much more complicated. I do return for a little bit. It’s quite soon before my sort of permanent return, and there’s lots of drama and chaos to issue,” he said.
“The flashback storyline works really well. You get a lot of exposition, a lot of the explanation of the relationship, so by the time Max turns up proper, there’s already an established relationship between the two of them. It’s just been a joy.”
Zoe and Max’s relationship may seem out of the blue – but Jake thinks his character and Michelle’s character have a lot of common ground. He said: “I think the relationship between them is genuine. I think there are genuine feelings between them.
