EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (August 12) episode, which can now be streamed on BBC iPlayer. The episode in question will air at 7:30pm.

Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) was left fearing for his life as an infuriated Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) stood before him in his cell with a bladed weapon in hand.

Gray, as viewers know, used Ian to get to Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams), who he holds personally responsible for what happened to Jordan (Jahsaiah Williams).

The killer manipulated Ian into thinking he wouldn’t make it out of his eight month stint behind bars alive and thus offered his protection – in exchange for him arranging a meeting with Chelsea.

Chelsea, who has been keen to help Ian out, agreed to meet with the former councillor but when all hell broke loose in the visitors’ room, the prison went into lockdown – with Chelsea trapped with her serial killer ex.

Gray intended on keeping her there long enough for Sheila (Sheila Ruskin) to kidnap Jordan and take him out of the country.

Back on the Square, there was panic aplenty when Jordan went missing, with Kim (Tameka Empson) wasting little time in informing Denise (Diane Parish), who – against everyone’s wishes – left the hospital and headed to the airport in a bid to track down her grandson.

With Kim’s help, Denise located Sheila before shew boarded a plane and berated her for trying to take Jordan away from his loved ones. Soon after, Chelsea managed to secure her freedom and made her way to the airport, where she was reunited with her son.

Gray, who had been positive the plan would go as expected, became concerned when he hadn’t heard anything from nan Sheila and he worried that Ian may have tipped Chelsea off about where exactly they were planning to take Jordan.

Worried for his safety, Ian reached for the blade that Gray had provided him with earlier in the week – only to realise it was missing. In grim scenes, Gray held the weapon in his hand as a terrified Ian reeled.

Ian is in serious danger – just how will he get out of this one?
