Beyond Paradise has confirmed that filming has begun on the fifth series of the BBC crime drama, with Kris Marshall returning as DI Humphrey Goodman.

The BBC has shared an exciting Beyond Paradise update, confirming filming has begun on a new series with the Shipton Abbott squad “back on the beat”.
The British spin-off of Death In Paradise is set to return, with a joint announcement from the programme and BBC Studios confirming that production has commenced on the fifth series of the crime drama.
The production team released an image of a clapperboard featuring the silhouette of Kris Marshall’s Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman positioned before a rural church, indicating they were preparing to film the opening take of the new series.
They announced: “Anyone spotted a sleuth by the sea? The Shipton Abbott squad are back on the beat! Filming has begun this week on the latest series of Beyond Paradise.”
Viewers responded enthusiastically, with one commenting: “Oh thank goodness! Love this show so much,” reports the Mirror.
Another remarked: “The only downside of this brilliant show… not enough episodes per series.”
Someone else praised the “fantastic” news, as another said: “Great news, we were there in June, looking forward to the news series.”
“YIPPEE,” another said, while someone else wrote: “Yay. Love this show and all the cast!”

This comes after the BBC announced that Death in Paradise, starring Don Gilet in the leading role, will return with two further series and two Christmas specials.
Fans were left delighted at the news that Beyond Paradise would also be making a comeback, as it had previously been shared on social media, with the BBC teasing: “The cameras return to Cornwall. Beyond Paradise Series 5 is confirmed in Looe.”
Kris had also accidentally confirmed his return earlier this year, saying: “Well, we’re about to start shooting season five.”
He was then quick to clarify: “I am kidding, I am kidding. I am not gonna give away spoilers, they haven’t even written it yet.”

Since then, Kris has been pictured by fans filming in character in the picturesque Cornish town of Looe, as one fan wrote on a Facebook page: “The police station light is back up in Looe today, this means filming is about to start.”
Another shared an image of Kris dressed as DI Humphrey Goodman in a beige jacket, blue shirt, and navy trousers, while yet another showed him in a white vest and sunglasses, speaking to a fellow cast member.
The fan wrote alongside the images: “First day of filming for the new series here in Looe, aka Shipton Abbott.”
